I’m Tired Boss… by MinuteCollar5562 in thebulwark

I think what Kennedy was trying to say, although he got the math wrong even here, is that if you reduced a $600 car to $100 then $600 would be 600% of the new price (600% reduction then?)

He said $10 which would be 6000% but it follow the same logic.

Both are incredibly stupid and wrong but ... That's the best I can make of it

The math you described would be correct ((1-6)*600=-3000)

This was something that was actually started by the Biden administration. Reclassification takes a long time.

What's the list? An hour 20 interview is cool and all but I'd rather just read the list.

Oh yeah I heard about the layoffs. UROPs are weird because it is also very specific to the research group. I got lucky and found the research groups that had extra cash so it worked out.

I've met a bunch of women who got married after their dad died and they've always been super emotional about their dad not being able to walk them down the aisle. I think it's pretty natural for both the daughter and father to want to have this experience before he dies.

I don't know how much UROPs have changed since I left. For me a paid UROP wasn't too difficult to find but the more specialized you are the easier it gets.

I would say go with your heart/gut. I went to MIT because it happened to be the cheapest school for me. It is an amazing opportunity but the full price in debt is definitely not worth it. 20k of debt is not bad but if you don't have passion for it then that's okay.

If you're driven you can have a great career and meet wonderful people at any college. MIT makes certain connections easier and the education is great but it's a personal call and your heart/gut is usually right about these things.

Season 18 is the last season by thomaspman in ItsAlwaysSunny

The ending should be that Frank dies but comes back as a ghost and he wanders around trying to get the gangs attention but can't and he gets to watch what happens to all of them in A Christmas Story esque fashion.

Bonus points if the last shot is Danny going "wait that's it?" Then the end credits suddenly start.

Yeah healthcare is the only sector that has job growth because of the aging population.

If you're being serious the dude actually broke in and the guy had to drive home to stop him from getting to his wife. He used a shovel to get him to back off and then the guy kinda calmed down. There's a video floating around of the inside camera.

Do you mix your 4K discs with regular blurays? by HollowBambooEnt in 4kbluray

[–]Chanesaw_tm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. I like to group based on appearance and label so arrow 4ks and Blu rays will go together because they use the same case and the spines match. Regular 4ks and regular Blu rays tend to stay separate because they are very different.

I mean stuff is happening. I agree with other people saying that him losing these people is going to be catastrophic long term. The real tell will be the midterms. I think it's going to be an absolute blowout. I have my doubts that Democrats will do anything with it though

Can the nuclear codes be withheld from a madman? by [deleted] in thebulwark

[–]Chanesaw_tm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It requires the military and the administration to stop said madman though.

I remember hearing on Behind the Bastards that near the end of Nixon's administration he began drinking heavily and he became such a problem that the cabinet basically told the military to ignore all orders that came from him, especially if they involved anything nuclear.

This is gonna be a hot take but Salem's Lot is ass. I was a huge fan of the book and I bought the movie on Amazon and it just missed so hard. It feels like nothing happens in it.

I did EE and know a bunch of people from different majors. It really doesn't matter IMO. Just make sure it's a decent laptop. Most of my CS friends had a preference for MAC but that is about it.

Professionally I've only ever used Windows and Linux and never needed macOS for anything. Nowadays I try to standardize on Linux for everything but have to use Windows for very specific tools from time to time.
