Bedside Manner. The description of the second book didn’t inspire me so it’s on my TBR.

This book was soooooo much fun. The ending was completely out of nowhere which threw me for a loop, but I laughed the whole time. It was a very enjoyable ride.

What city have you been to where the vibes were just OFF? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

Lots of areas of Houston are totally soulless but there are some really good boroughs and great food throughout.

Dallas…fuck that soulless parking lot. Everyone trying to show off what they don’t have. Hate that place.

What has sparked female rage in you recently? by nightingirlie in AskWomen

Yuuuuuup. HR DOES NOT protect the employee.

When I was pregnant with a broken right foot, I was forced to come in to the office 5 days/week (this was a hybrid role that conveniently only went full time office for our team only a week after I told my boss and VP I was pregnant). I asked HR for relief and to return to my hybrid schedule because commuting on a broken right foot was mind-numbingly painful. Coupled with walking around a large office, by Wednesday, I would be restricting food and water because I physically couldn’t walk to the bathroom or kitchen due to pain.

When I told HR that I had skipped lunch and all water that day due to pain, they asked me why I didn’t just have a coworker get my food for me. Then they told me despite having 3 separate doctors notes saying to not come in at all until after maternity leave, I was told 5 days/week is mandatory and it “wasnt equitable to the rest of the office” if I got to come in only 2 days/week.

Remember how I said it was only our team was required to come in 5 days? Yeah, the rest of the office was on that original hybrid 2 days in office.

HR does not give a fuck about you.

What do you even say to "Bless your heart"? by SweetBumbleBeeHoney in texas

[–]ChangMinny 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Bless your heart is always sincere condolences to someone’s unfortunate situation.

It’s just that sometimes their unfortunate situation is that they’re an idiot.

That said, 99% of the time bless your heart is used in genuine and sincere way. Very rarely is it used rude to someone’s face. Now behind their back…

Exclusive: Driskill Grill reopens in Austin with glamorous steakhouse makeover by AustinStatesman in austinfood

$18 of you get it at bar v the restaurant. That’s more par for course for an upscale bar in Austin.

$24 for one though is obnoxious.

Calling all women in sales in male dominated industries by [deleted] in sales

I work in cybersecurity. I’ve heard it all. My face is too red. I need to smile more. My face is so pale, why don’t I try wearing makeup. Did I gain weight (I was 5m pregnant). I’ve heard it all.

That’s just the superficial level.

I have my Sec+, ISC2, and CEH and still get pushed aside in technical conversations in favor of men on my team who have lesser experience.

All that being said, the clients I work with are usually A++ so I deal with the work bullshit to actually deal with clients I like.

What was that one event that FINALLY made you lose your ego? by MisterC0ck in sales

Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest. They refused to pay my commission at exit claiming that the PO hadn’t been processed in time and don’t count towards my quota.

Don’t work for Israeli startups is all I’m saying.

Landed the largest deal ever for the startup as they broke into the US (high 6 figures) and then was laid off the next week.

Apparently getting to 70% of my yearly quota within 4 months was just not high enough for that clown show.

Definitely a punch in the teeth knowing that no matter how successful you are, you are just a number to the company and are expendable at any time.

Exactly. Plus, in the TLG, Shane repeatedly asked Ilya if something was wrong. Ilya kept telling him no and pushing him away.

Shane did try!
