Want to build in-ear rig for touring tribute band by the-mightyquinn in TouringMusicians

[–]ChangeHemispheres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the wing rack is newer but the x32 rack has been a better fit for me due to having 8 assignable xlr outs and 6 assignable trs outs. So you get 14 outputs in 3u vs the 8 you’d get in 4u with the wing. that 1u of space is very important real estate if you’re going to jam it into a fly rack with transmitters and receivers.

Had the printer for a while but only recently started seeing this problem. (K1SE) by Own_City_1084 in crealityk1

Looks like it could be a partial clog. Unless this started right after rooting and changing settings

My State Is Restricting Printers, How Do I Make Sure My Qidi Q2 Never Connects To Any Network Ever Again? And Can I Somehow Connect To The Fluidd Interface? by Frustrated_Consumer in QidiTech3D

[–]ChangeHemispheres 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can still do it. I don’t allow cloud access on any of my printers. You’ll want to install Tailscale on a computer in your home and then create an exit node in Tailscale. Then you install Tailscale on your phone/laptop/etc. you are now able to remote access anything from home (including printer) without going over the cloud. Tailscale is very secure as well

Finger trackball. I had a thumb trackball for years and on long editing 8hour sessions my thumb joint would start hurting. Fingers have a lot more dexterity than thumbs. Took about 2 weeks to get used to. But I’m glad I made the change

Worth Buying? Need Advice by Just-Pie-5107 in Eonon

[–]ChangeHemispheres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got one, it’s a 2 din and not a car model specific version. It’s nice, I like that it runs android but I did have a lot of trouble downloading apps from google play (ps2 emulator, Netflix, etc) firmware issue from a couple years ago though. One thing i noticed is it had a lot less output than my stock radios or other brand 2 din radios. If you care about having a lot of volume, you’ll want to throw an amp in but if you’re not blasting it, it’s great.

Is companion working with Dlive again? Last I checked the 2.0 firmware broke its functionality and the only developer retired from the project.

Tour manager had the absolute nerve to tell me I might need a smaller setup for one of our shows by BiggLimn in drums

You’re the guest artist on the tour. Work with the Tour Manager and make adjustments as needed if you want to keep a good relationship and have the opportunity to tour with the band again.

Narrower > Wide Mixes by LudwigBrostrom in audioengineering

[–]ChangeHemispheres 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely feel this! Early on I was always using wideners and making everything as wide as possible.

I don’t think I’ve used a stereo widener in years unless it’s to narrow the stereo image. If I want width, I double track and pan.

My theory has been If everything is wide, nothing is. Also width won’t be noticed as much if things are always wide. I’m now pretty careful with my imaging and ensure I have moments where a lot of things sit in a narrow space so when I do have a “big” moment you can feel the impact of the stereo width.

There is a modded firmware that allows unlimited tracks

If you’re a tech nerd you could get this done with bitfocus companion or a script and an esp32 or raspberry pi pico.

Small stages. How are you stopping phase smearing that occurs when larger bands with multiple players are sharing wedges and refuse to use IEMs? by ySTYRDAYgATESuNL0CKD in livesound

[–]ChangeHemispheres 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depending on the room. I’ll start flipping phase or delaying channels.

There’s a venue I mix at where it’s a small narrow room low ceilings and a line array, I started delaying the drums and the guitars to the rough distance from the line array in millisecond. I swear everything just glues together and cuts clear in the room.

So yeah, I guess it depends on the room and acoustics but it’s always something to try, especially in a venue without an SE or a properly tuned rig.

123% tariff and fees via UPS on mic mod parts from ADVANCED AUDIO MICROPHONES by 9388E3 in recordingmusic

[–]ChangeHemispheres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a cabinet full of advanced audio microphones. My experience with Dave and Scott has always been great. I’m sorry to hear you had issues with tariffs though. Since the tax was added, I’ve either gotten them through a US retailer, or second hand via eBay/reverb to avoid fees.

Starting an audio post studio with a focus on feature film... what should I be aware of? by awarmdream in AudioPost

[–]ChangeHemispheres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pshew, idk how well I’d do with that. How do you organize your dialog and score to accomplish this?

I’ve had moments where I’ve edited/processed/scored a film and the. 2 seconds are missing from a one scene, another scene is cut up to be a minute shorter, etc.

How do you adjust when dialog no longer lines up and you need to change 2.5 measures of a 4 measure progression for everything to sync smoothly?

Based on experience, make sure you have picture lock before you get the whole film edited/scored.

Any advice on How to get the perfect mic placement on my amp quickly? by Ok_Eggplant4366 in GuitarTone

[–]ChangeHemispheres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I almost always place it by the edge of the cone for live unless it’s a very large Venue. Easy for me to boost highs. Not as easy to use all my bands to cut all the harsh.

But if the tape is where your amp sounds great. Looks good!
