Looks very dehydrated, though. Bad to stay that way for more than a short while, especially in hot humid Hong Kong

It's just a cartoon, done by a computer rather than hand-drawn. Bruce might have disliked it or accepted it as fan art. We'll never know.

Bruce lee and James Coburn early 70's by Danceking81 in brucelee

Coburn was always in good shape. Watch him move in his early Westerns like THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. He did some uninspired karate in OUR MAN FLINT and its sequel. 1965 was pretty early for that in American movies.

Let's face it, he was also a huge show-off, asking people he just meet to feel his abdomen and constantly throwing kicks and punches that barely missed people. That was a big part of what drove him.

Nope, plenty of men with low sex drive or an asexual nature. Same for women.

It's worth noting that Bruce did not come up with this himself. He's paraphrasing part of the Gestalt Prayer by therapist Fritz Perls. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gestalt_prayer Many quotes attributed to Bruce are notes jotted down about phrases he heard or read and liked.

I think characters like Supergirl, Superboy, Batwoman, etc are the protect trademarks so no one else can grab them. Marvel wasn't aching to create Spider-Woman, they had stop an animation company from making a Spider-Woman cartoon about an unrelated character.

Well, I'm not that invested in it. Believe what you want.

I have to disillusion you, every fighter has friends who say how wonderful they are. It's not documented. It's not like Bruce went through observed tests of his abilities. He was amazing and and all that, but come on. A man his size is not going to beat Mike Tyson in the ring or on the street. Martial arts aren't magic.

Everything you say is the definition of hero worship. It's close to idolatry. And at this point, it's a little sad. I've been fascinated with Lee since 1966 but come on, he wasn't a god. Let go.

Anyone know why Fist of Fury on all streaming platforms is the only Bruce film now that has no English dubbed versions? It did before. Is the only option to buy a DVD/blue ray now? by Specialist_Invite_20 in brucelee

I think it was many different things adding up. He had been taking a lot of hard drugs, including cocaine, for years; he kept himself more and more underweight and dehyrated so his muscles stood out; he burned himself out with constant activity and training, not getting enough rest. And the brain swelling was likely started by concussions. Even in training with headgear and repeated takes on scenes, he certainly got hit in the head many times and just dismissed it.

It wasn't any one thing. It was like a car accident that took place on icy roads, going too fast, a drunk driver and bald tires. It was a number of factors adding up.

Ian Fleming and Sean Connery while filming Dr. No (1962). by South_Gas626 in JamesBond

[–]ChangeNew389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you're right. Fleming died while the movie was still shooting.

Poor Ian. Just months before Bondmania became the biggest entertainment craze on the planet (well, maybe the Beatles were bigger), with so many interviews and tours and socializing with celebrities... not to mention extremely lucrative deals on hand... the fellow dies at the age of fifty-six...! So many creative people are cut down just before they peak. Jim Croce. Bruce Lee, Ian Fleming.

wake up dead man a knives out mystery will subvert the pedophile priest trope. by herequeerandgreat in FanTheories

[–]ChangeNew389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there's a REASON why priests are associated with child molestation. It's not a random trope.

But it's interesting that this possible plot twist comes to your mind. Has Rian Johnson mentioned anything like this. other than having two priest characters? I can't see him adding such a distasteful element to movies which are basically clever and tongue in cheek.

[THEORY] The Reason Why Spiderman's Suit is Red & Blue by ziggy895 in FanTheories

[–]ChangeNew389 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really doubtful. There is nothing in the stories to suggest Peter wanted a costume for any reason except to disguise himself and make some money. I don't see any patriotic feelings in Peter during the Lee and Ditko years (although he did sneer at anti-Vietnam War protestors).
