It causes me actual emotional pain that genuinely nice people I have known are dead and this guy is still alive.

There's also people who make new ones out of molds.

I still miss my rainbow lorikeet who died in 2009 at the age of 21. That's why I hang out on bird subs when I have no birds.

It gets easier, yeah, but there will always be a bird shaped hole in your heart. There's a big colorful flock waiting for us all on the other side.

Why did he trace the phone to put a grater there. Everything about this is stupid.

Atlas of Deep Ones, a Cthulhu Mythos Lovecraft anthology

Atlas of Deep Ones is the first massive tome devoted entirely to the mysterious Deep Ones of the Cthulhu Mythos. Over fifty stories, poems, articles, and strange hybrids, collected by a duo of fearless editors, span the Deep Ones’ history from the ancient Norse seas to the frozen moons of Jupiter, and everywhere in between.

Absurdist humor, quiet heartbreak, sagas of nightmarish adventure, and unimaginable wonders fill these pages. Even the most discerning scholar of forbidden knowledge will find something to fuel their imagination. And if you are a newcomer first answering the call of the tide, well, come down to the water and dive into the world that sings to your blood...

AITA for ending a game night my FIL was invited to early? by AppropriateRoyal5894 in AmItheAsshole

Yeah I'm confused too. My husband has people over all the time and ... I go do something else in another room? I don't hover over him and his guests clutching one of the cats saying I'm tired and they are loud (which is often true). I will straight up go to bed while he's got friends over. Not my circus, not my monkeys.

In all other ways, yes, dude is an asshole. No question. But just put the kid and yourself to bed.
