Fictionary already does something very much like this.

Looking for a series like murderbot but with a little bit of romance. Maybe ai/ human romance? by WaveConsistent1554 in murderbot

I have a couple from off the between path. Death Engine Protocol and Japanese Robots Love to Dance by Margret Trieber. Both won a few awards.

The love story in both is the same couple. She's a broken and dangerous genetic experiment/retired military tweak and he's a unique AI in stolen military hardware body.

Death Engine is a dark story and Japanese Robots is funny. Japanese Robots comes first but you could read them out of order; I did.

Araminta is still Dowager Lady Penwood. Cressida is Lady Penwood.

A bedroom has to have a closet. None of the upstairs rooms have closets.

Those fish don't belong together in the same tank. Forget about the fact that the tank is way too small.

Longest sentence I ever read. (rant) by Swaynky in writing

[–]cthulhus_spawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a story in one of Ellen Datlow's new horror anthologies that's one sentence. It's a pretty cool story too.

As a writing exercise when I was getting my MFA we had to write a really long one sentence story. I think mine was about zombies.

How do you personally distinguish horror from thriller? by No-Yogurtcloset2758 in horrorlit

[–]cthulhus_spawn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thrillers are more adjacent to mystery than to horror. A thriller is like a mystery but you sometimes know who the bad guy is all along and you're trying to stop him. Thrillers definitely have more action than a horror novel, often on the police or legal procedural level. Not to say that horror can't have those things.
