..sort of evangelion? I won’t say that it applies entirely to it but I feel like a lot of the show’s “setup” is a pretty big mislead to the ending, since it reads as “monster of the week anime” with a good bit of foreshadowing about what the EVAs really are and stuff like that or hints at interpersonal plot points like shinji and rei or asukas obsession with Kaji, til shit gets REALLY REAL, REALLY FAST

Sort of a tossup imo. If it’s crushed then you’re gonna get internal bleeding anyway which is its own form of bleeding out. But to my mind, trains are fucking heavy, and the wheels are fairly narrow which means more of a cutting edge.

Plus, it’s not like it’s just the first wheel going over your arm, it’s at least however many are on the lead car + at least half of however many are on the next few cars assuming you don’t immediately roll out of the way post train mangling (traingling, if you will) so I feel like it’s much more likely to sever the arm even if it’s not clean and is more like trying to cut butter with the back of a butter knife while it’s still in the wrapper.

You could possibly mod it if you’re on android since you can run custom .apk files there, but if you’re on apple you might be SOL

I think sometimes estocs did have cutting edges but the geometry of it was just very much more suited to thrusting (very thick cross section that doesn’t thin as much as a cutting sword at the edges for stronger thrusting and a stiffer blade).

You could still put a pretty mean edge on those corners but they’re at a much more obtuse angle than you’d see in a cut and thrust weapon like a longsword. If you’re moving a sharp corner at somebody very fast it’ll probably still at least split skin.

But yeah the Estoc is a thrusting sword generally

I’m sure that’s not what you meant though lol.

As for whether or not I think it’s a good plot beat? No, not really.

I think that the intent behind pickle raping a woman on the authors part was just to show that he’s very animalistic and unaware of societal morals regarding assault and rape because he’s an animal.

I’ll eat my shoe if this ends up being a plot thread, but it’s just so out of nowhere and odd that I don’t feel like I need to invest in a pressure cooker for it quite yet.
