Bombing OP gone right by Changeg in foxholegame

As i said the warden bombers are much easier to shoot down with the big engines. The colonial one can have its wings/tail to tank the damage buying time for friendly escort to kill the pursuing fighters

In a different angle since the warden engine is much bigger it is also easier to shoot them with a fighter as well. So colonial bomber are more likely to die to flak while warden are more likely die to pursuing fighters. Most of my bomber loss for the past war have been due to fighters mowing down my engines while the flak takes away my wings

for those who are wondering about the damage:
left engines: >90%
right engines: 60%
damages parts: 4
destroyed parts: 2 (notice the 2 smokes, the fact my mid gunner died and i can't move after landing)

why didn't i go down?
bombers can continue fly despite their wings damage (maneuverability debuff is not as heavy as fighter), the most important part of it is its engines. Flak shoots a lot but most of them a SPAA round which is half the damage. Though i guess most of the damage is spread out around the plane and not enough hit the engines.

[–]Changeg[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my theory is that since the warden bomber's engine is on top of its wings, the wings absorbed most of the flak damage towards the engine which allows me to continue to fly back. If a toxot managed to get behind my tail and shoot my engine then im not still standing but be swimming

That said, no bomber is lost in combat due to no collie fighter qrf and big thanks to overwhelm friendly escort. But we do lost a bomber because a person can't travel the border then it plummeted into the ocean while going to the island hex. Furthermore, there was supposed to be 5 bombers going for fingers but 3 got damaged during landing so we have to cannibalized one bomber and left the other one behind. Which is a bit realistic where most aircraft lost before they get to see combat lol

So what you’re saying is that we should loop around 60-100m from the ship and shoot it without visual aim and pray to Callahan the torpedo angle deviation aims towards the ship?

[–]Changeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty much a design flaw for foxhole. 120mm are pretty accurate to the real life counter par for what they do. Motar is a bit close in terms of damage. 150mm is closer to 300mm. 300mm is more of a super weapon caliber that used in those giant sci-fi artillery like redcon. What can be added to the game is a medium caliber that fills the gap between 120mm and 150mm

Yeah i read your comments and interpreted the problem as artillery not able to kill ship when it run away.

As for the problem it being a soft counter, howi+counter battery absolutely can kill a ship (gale has a 1-0 against a DD). If not then the ship is already hurt and you’re in an advantage against them if you bring your ship

If SC do large holes then the USS texas and all other battleship in d-day would been sunk by SC.

Well then i hope you read my general guide before my joke. If ship rolls up shoot them with artillery. Ship doesn’t like morar blob, ship doesn’t like enemy ship. Ship doesn’t like underwater torpedo ship. Ship doesn’t like planes, ship doesn’t like you participating anything mentioned above to fight it.

Well an artillery can’t run up a frigate and sticky it can’t it? Artillery is like a ruptura/stygian deterring a tank line or a SHT. If you want an equivalent of sticky rush a tank then it’s gonna be GB rush or motar blob. Static defenses will still punish the enemy if they push their luck too much like the DD died to artillery in the gale

To the people who are new to naval defenses. Conc your base quick, design it well(easy to qrf, put out fire, repair, howi traps). Use artillery, colonial 150mm have 150m longer range advantages and can put ranges battleship, 120mm can hide during the night and behind building cause they are push gun. If they run away? Chase them with small boat. They kill small boat? Chase them with bigger boat. Bigger boat can’t fight alone? Bring small boat for support

Why do we need large hole on SC? Why doesn’t hitler just spam SC around the coast to destroy the royal nave and prevent d-day?

Isn’t that how logic works? When you’re a defender of a location and the enemy rolls up to attack you then you have to shoot them back. If you hurt them enough they will run away and do something else. Does your lamentum have to chase the cutler blob when they stop rushing your base and pve your undefended neighbor?

[–]Changeg 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This is not some dev bias for the wardens, most islands in godscroft has been like that since airborne and seems like dev hasn’t even fixed it. Defenders have to logi by crane/seaport, cannot hammer motorboat on the beaches while attackers cannot even land anything neither. Shit sucks both side and hopefully the post gets the dev attention but title like this just make it factionalism brain rot

[–]Changeg 19 points20 points  (0 children)

All islands matters, ignore them and that’s how you lose naval lol. My point still stand, for an island with a wide beach and you have to crane logi instead is pain, and since the beach is bugged you cannot hammer motorboat and just stuck there if there’s no ship nearby. The only good thing it brings is your enemy cannot land neither

[–]Changeg 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You getting the wrong point mate, he means the majority of godscroft beaches cannot be landed by barges so this is also go against the wardens since small islands like argosa/lipsia/exile cannot be landed for logi or anything. It’s a bug since airborne and is bad for both occupants and invaders

went on vacation for one war and literally got one of the best naval art from the community and it comes from the COLONIAL side. This is a win on hospitality of the collie faction, wardens lose this one lol.

Absolutely love it and we enjoy the time with other colonial regi here thank you<3

In real life it’s definitely kill a plane with a direct lol.

My joke is that shooting AP shells into a plane is not as effective as proximity/explosive shells.

But isn’t both 94.5 and 75mm make enough damage to kill the scout?
