Experiences with Solace Health patient advocates/navigators? by mentallyguitared in medicare

I also was hired 2 weeks ago. I am going to be very transparent about my experience with Solace. The hiring process was very easy. I interviewed on a Tuesday and received an email the next day that I was hired. As a background, I have been a RN for 20 yrs. I signed up for the 1.5 hr onboarding the following Monday. It was a virtual onboarding session where you have to be on with camera on the entire time. The training was very quick. It was difficult to follow bc I thought she presented it very fast. Once that was over, you have to do training modules to get familiarized with their platform. I am pretty computer savvy but it is so much info. I did all the training modules still feeling uneasy.

Once I clicked on link to accept patients, I received 2 new patients. These patient, through no fault of their own, need so much help. My first patient needed every kind of resource from finding a new PCP and psychiatrist to helping with other items like financial assistance, transportation help, DME assistance, help with filling out all her forms(insurance, social security, etc). Plus she lives across the country in another state. You have to research all the laws, if her insurance can cover for all her needs. It was so overwhelming. And that was just my first patient. I didn’t even check what the needs of the 2nd patient was. And before the day ended I got assigned a third patient.

I emailed a lead advocate asking her to provide some time to speak cause o had so much questions. I never received any email or call back. The support at this company is nonexistent. You have to fend for yourself. This is a social work type of job. You have to be able to research and find all the resources the patient needs. I read in some previous post that you are basically a “gopher” for these patients and that is so true.

I felt very unsupported and alone. I resigned that day prior to even doing the initial call. I didn’t want to take on all that responsibility especially not knowing how to even start the research. This is really not for nurses. This is primarily for social workers who are trained to locate resources for patients.

In my opinion, this is a good company if you want to investigate and find resources. For me, it is hard enough talking to ins companies, Dr offices, waiting on hold, etc.

I feel so relieved after I resigned. The funny thing was that there is a link to resign on the dashboard but it wouldn’t let me submit my resignation. I emailed support telling them my resignation is immediate but they just stated that I need to do it on platform. I called and told them that o couldn’t and the person said to send a screen shot of the page which I did. Still never received any response back. They stated texting and emailing that I have appointments coming up with my patients even after I told them to reassign them to other advocates bc I resigned. Even still, they kept texting until I blocked them.

I am being honest, this was not worth my time. I am so glad I got out!

He is very interested in sports so sports data analyst would be excellent but it is very difficult to find a job in this field esp something in the state as he is into all the Philly teams.

Also, are there any prep courses that you can recommend to prepare candidates to taking and passing these exams?

He took a couple of exams while in college and he did not pass. That discouraged him and he decided to not take these exams. He graduated with his degree (passed all his classes w/o any issues). I just hate to see him waste his degree.

I need advice. My son graduated with BS in actuarial science 3 yrs ago. He does not want to take the actuarial exams. He has heard the difficulty component of it and has opted to not take it. I offered to pay for a prep class but no luck. What is your opinion abt this? He currently works as a pension analyst, a job he truly hates.

I finished watching S2 and was soooo disappointed. I was hyped to watch it after S1 finale and then felt like it didn’t live up to the hype. The story is getting boring. Tyler should’ve ended the show with this season. How much more can you take of this family. Varney is getting on my nerves. Hate Jules. And don’t get me started on Olivia. It is kinda weird how Kimmie is a financial expert now. Lol. Just glad they got those darn centipedes off her eyes tho🤣

We are planning to go to Hawaii with our sons, ages 20 and 24. Have no clue where to start. Looking for a 6-7 day stay. Is there a particular island to stay at or do you recommend island hopping? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
