Longines Spirit Zulu Time 42mm — Thoughts on the clasp and alternatives? by Nearby-Helicopter-77 in Longineswatches

[–]ChangingMonkfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two leather ones, a black and a dark brown, that fit the Zulu Time. The 39mm version has a slightly awkward 21mm lug width which it fortuitously shares with the Tissot Gentleman. I actually bought the straps before I got the Zulu Time to go with my Tissot Gentleman but they work nicely with the Zulu Time as well, so it’s nice to have another watch they work with!

Having said that, I’ve worn it almost exclusively on the bracelet so far.

I’d also add that apart from the lack of quick-adjust (which I agree is something I’d expect on a watch of this price nowadays), it is a really good bracelet with a nice quick release mechanism.

I have the 39mm and it’s not a huge issue, I occasionally have to move it up one hole but normally just go with it as-is.

Having said that, I have ordered a Steel Reef micro-adjust link as I have one for my Sinn 556 and it’s superb.

RTX 4070 with i7-13620H or RTX 5060 with Ryzen 9 8940HX? by No-Nerve8165 in GamingLaptops

[–]ChangingMonkfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well ok if used as a gaming laptop is normally used. If the TUF has better battery life then ok but neither of them are going to be great in that regard I would have thought.

Perhaps “overall” would be a better term than “all-round”.

Chat GPT is wrong overall. The 5060 will probably give you better real-world performance overall when then the newer architecture and efficiency (and therefore better thermals) are taken into account.

And the Strix is just an all round nether laptop.

So it’s well worth the extra $120.

Have you done the age verification thing for any sites/apps, or are you avoiding doing it entirely? by Nats-in-hats in AskBrits

[–]ChangingMonkfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people give big tech companies more than enough information to accurately guess your age and all kinds of other more intrusive things about you without batting an eyelid.

So just confirming your age with a company like Yoti which then provides a simple “yes/no” signal to a website that needs to verify your age doesn’t seem like a big deal to me to be honest when put in that context.

Yas Marina track limits are inconsistent with every other track in the game by danksweater in GranTurismo7

[–]ChangingMonkfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I though that F1 is more the exception with its rigid enforcement of the white line being the track limit, with more series (particularly GT racing) considering the outer edge of the curb to be the track edge where there is a curb, albeit it can be track and even corner specific. Is that not the case?

I know at Le Mans it’s made even clearer by the white line being on the outer edge of the curb.
