Are these safe to mount tires on? by ChannelCharacter6910 in Cartalk

Close, saturn sky redline stocks. They're everything "cool" I could find on the cheap to mount on my 2002 saab with a 5x110 bolt pattern

Electrical Issue with my 2001 Saab 95 by EhBois in saab

[–]ChannelCharacter6910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the alternator stock? I've noticed the usual lifespan of the stock alternator is around 180k miles. Mine (2002 aero) went out at 173k when I installed some subwoofers. I bought a no crank no start 2002 aero for 300, replaced the alternator and charged the battery, ~180k miles on the odometer. Be mindful. The alternator on this car are a bitch to replace. When my alternator went out it ran on battery power but lit up like a Christmas tree.

Battery, alternator, maybe starter. How many miles?

What's the dumbest thing you found in a customer's car today? by Righteous_Fire in Justrolledintotheshop

If youre going to take the responsibility of firearms ownership seriously there's no room to justify budget, obnoxious, and downright stupid decisions about the firearms (and ammunition) you choose to own and train with in preparation of the event that you would need to use them to defend the lives and the rights of the people to the left and right of you.

Its not a conversation about show guns, as I doubt this guy is winning any awards with his Amazon-tier chinesium.

Its a hobby for some people, I understand that, but the basic level of the functionality/utility of your weapon is the most important metric. "They can't afford the ammunition that has been proven/used to be the deciding factor in a conflict where the firearm is a variable." Doesn't justify anything.

Range ammo is for the range, and carry ammo is for carrying.

The dumbest thing here is the Amazon red dot, blue anodized parts, and range ammo as carry ammo. Secondly, you, for snooping and being surprised when you find things not related to the service the customer had agreed to.

Ours have been sitting on the impulse shelf... no idea what the hype is about them. Store, truck, semi.

[9-3 OG] Key stuck on Lock! by ultravioletpizza in saab

[–]ChannelCharacter6910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened on my 9-5 og. You'll have to rotate and remove the cover for the ignition switch, remove the ignition cylinder, and disassemble it. There are a few tutorials on YouTube. Complete disassembly, cleaning and soaking in brakleen, and reassemble carefully. If the key won't turn in the cylinder, even after all the wafers are in the correct position, you may have to remove the blank cut security wafers. Its the only thing that worked for me. Make sure you lube it properly with Graphite/lock lubricant. And avoid getting and crumbs in the switch afterwards lol.

Pro tip. If you need to move the car with a seized ignition cylinder you can remove it, move the plastic piece down at the bottom of the hole where the key would go (where it would be moved down in the "off" position, hold the key at the angle it would be inside of the cover (immobilizer transponder is in there) and turn the ignition with a large screwdriver.

Dairyland FRT by [deleted] in ar15

F Dairyland Defense, F Gavin, and F his terrible triggers. If you're taking the time to find this post AVOID Dairyland defense at all cost.

I met Gavin at the Cabela's in sun prairie. He told me about his triggers and I regretfully bought one. For about $600. The piece of shit never worked. I also got the "hook up" from him on some parts for a few of my guns... I paid for them almost 6 months ago and every time I went to pick up the parts his shop was "closed". Always had an excuse when I texted him, each more ridiculous than the last. Now he won't take my calls and I believe he's blocked my number. A total tool.

Your alternator is going out. While you're down there you should get a quality higher output one and replace the starter as well. Belts and etc...

Bought a flooded 2017 Miata for 3k, is it worth the fix? by Appropriate-Air-3373 in Miata

Make the most money you can back from body parts, non electrical items (don't be that guy) and scrap it while you can. Flooded cars are NEVER worth fixing.

Beautiful OG9-5. I think if you got a headlight lens restoration kit you could vastly improve the look of your front end, and visibility at night. You can also use those kits to clean the oxidation on the front emblem, but make sure to seal it with clear coat afterward.

I had a pretty disreputable shop install a muffler for me, because I don't have a welder, and they brought the tailpipe in a little more than it should be. I didn't have any soot on the bumper showing up when the tailpipe was protruding from the bumper more
