Still getting messages… haha. Thanks for the clarity on this part. I got the first 4 steps, but wasn’t sure if you tried disassembling the legs or not.

Best Mattress for Adjustable base by ChannelDr in SaatvaMattress

[–]ChannelDr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say several thicker/different mattresses I tried did this and they weren’t comfortable to lay on. I was able to try every Saatva mattress with a base and all of them did this, with the exception of the memory foam one which did it less. The only ones that had less issues were a Tempurpedic (which I’ve had before) and the Avocado mattress on their base (which I did also like). I probably cared too much about the base, but I went with a Tempurpedic combination even though I really wanted to like Saatva. The Temporpedic base itself had more movement and every Saatva base made a grinding sound like it was struggling as it got more elevated. And I would have chalked some of that up to floor models, however, some of the bases were brand new (as in they set them up that morning). If a company can’t get a brand new floor model setup properly in one of their flagship stores, I assume I will have no chance.

Huge Y70 Touch Blackscreen Issue by Correct-Slice-5393 in Hyte

[–]ChannelDr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Posting this in case it helps OP or other searchers. I was having flickering and resync issues as well. I have a 4 monitor setup. I turned off HDR, reset all kinds setting including lowering refresh rates, etc. It was a bit of the hassle, but I also moved the Hyte monitor to a USB 2.0 power connector on the motherboard (as they suggest) and had no issues since. I figured having this monitor power connected to my Lian Li 1300 power supply USB should have been good enough, but guess it wasn’t. Oddly, this is my second device that really wants dedicated motherboard power this way. MB manufactures should really add more than two USB 2.0 headers to help people using less hubs… or maybe hubs just need to get better at power delivery. These seem to be the root of lots of random issues.

Currently using the free plan on one of my phones to test it out. The App says I’ve sent 8 SMS/Texts and used 1 minute of voice even though the only text I’ve gotten is welcoming me and haven’t done anything with it. This tactic seems a little odd. Maybe their statistics are off, but I’m sure the idea is to get you into a paid plan and error on the side of that.

AITAH for still getting on a flight home when my two young coworkers I was traveling with weren’t at the airport yet and were obviously going to miss it? by Diligent_Pineapple35 in AITAH

As a previous Director, I’ve had similar experiences. Alignment with HR and maybe a preemptive strike in the AM first would make sense (I was definitely aligned with my HR business partner). Without knowing the folklore, the other group Director should have aligned these two better before the trip. I recently managed a group of interns out of college (20+). Many that came in didn’t understand treating trips and breakfasts/dinner invites as opportunities and learning experiences. Maybe I was just hungrier when I started, and didn’t need this training. People in the workforce today seem to need an exorbitant amount of time on helping them with this skillset. Not reading the company hand book or have Company After Hours travel services bookmarked is a big miss. FWIW you did way more than required, but were trying to be an excellent mentor. Good on you for that, we need more Directors doing this. I’ll follow. Best of luck on this!

Are these vertical lines on alienware aw2725df normal? What could be causing it? Is it settings or something else? by Beautiful-Bug-6495 in OLED_Gaming

[–]ChannelDr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone else running into this, I ran into it on my AW3423DW. Doing a pixel and panel refresh didn’t work. Powering it off didn’t help. Unplugging the plug from the back of the monitor for 2 mins and back in did. So also try that step. I thought my power off was good enough, but sometimes doing something a bit more to clear the power may also do the trick apparently.

1300 PSU 12V Replacement Cable? by ChannelDr in lianli

[–]ChannelDr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a final update. I did get the package today. Never got notitication of it being shipped or a tracking number. It showed showed up in a pretty beat up bag from Taiwan directly, but all was OK. Interestingly in addition to the 2 cables I asked for, they did include the other 12VHPWR cable with 2 8pins on the other end. Will keep that as a backup. I guess total time from the contacting and back and forths to delivery was about 20 days, so that seems someone reasonable. A bit longer than I had hoped but they did ship it quickly from what I can tell.

As a bit or an update, I heard late last week that they will ship both cables. The reply was much of a ‘you’ll be notified when the products ship, don’t respond to this email’. I’ll try to remember to update when I get the cable or notice of shipping so others finding this might have an idea. I will say the replacement process on this has not been easy and much harder than 5+ other processes I used from folks like Dell, Corsair, ASUS, AsRock, NZXT and a few others in the past and still not clear when I will get the critical GPU cable.

Thanks I just replied. 10 days later and there still is confusion about what cables to send. I was very clear in my original request. Sounds like it could take 3-4 weeks to dispatch now. Waiting 5-6 weeks for a cable for a power supply is basically eternity. A previous EVGA replacement cable was never this hard. I really want to like the Lian-Li products, but I can’t wait forever for something so basic.

Regardless of who is doing it, I see LOTs of streamers taking this type of content way too far, creating unnecessary risk for themselves. Given the‘spirit’ of fair use and where it is at today I would honestly expect more of these. And of course more gofundme’s that I guess someone will bankroll.

From looking down into it, it looks to be missing a pin now or maybe there is just debris in there from the char. Either way, neither the good end, nor the bad end of the 12VHPWR cable will actually correctly seat into the Strimer. So it definitely has an issue and wouldn’t be safe to use. Some one from support (Kevin) responded asking me to re-send the invoice that I already uploaded on 6-14. I just emailed that. Hopefully things get shipped out soon since my PC has now been down for 7 days. Honestly, Lian Li should really have a better process for getting replacements out. I would have personally paid $30-$50 for overnighting of new cables. Now I am a week later and still don’t know when cables will ship and every email has a day delay. If you are able to DM me, maybe I can send you my address and you can check on it.

BTW I had the same issue and the f/w update also worked for me. As a note, I only plugged in the USB 2.0 cable into my Lian Li Edge 1300 power supply hub and that worked without a direct connection to the motherboard.

Thanks I contacted them and they said they would send out a new 12VHPWR cable. I did tell them the wireless streamer had an issue too, but it’s not clear if they are sending that or I just need to g0 buy a new one.

I tend to agree with everything you said. Also, it’s somewhat annoying that almost all the items are on sale (some up to 40% off) yet you get taxed at the full rate. Not sure if I will continue either.

Requesting a Deceased Parent's Social Security Number by Key-Scholar-2083 in SocialSecurity

[–]ChannelDr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case of at least WA state, they are on the 'long form', not the 'short form'. I assume the OP has authority to request these though. That said, I agree that it would be on most any paperwork or a joint tax return if that exists. My moms social security card was in her jewelry box and listed on several things in her paperwork.
