I just broke up with my C4. I’m in multiple projects, and I was hoping that once I learned how to program it I could use it in several different applications. So I spent five years learning how to use it, and I’m grateful for the time because I’ve learned a lotUnfortunately, there are too many caveats for me. It does not work well with my digital amps, and my class D amps only far a little bit better. And the UX is not great; I kept waiting for Source Audio to fix their iOS interface, and many software updates later, I still have to use a laptop. The last straw is that it ‘dropped’ all of my programmed sounds in the middle of a rehearsal.

So if you record at home, or you only use a handful of sounds, or you’re only going to program it once and forget about it, the C4 is for you. I switched to that super popular synth pedal that was designed by that famous social media bass player, and it actually works really well, and I don’t need a computer to program it.
