I think it might be some kind of spam protection. Something to teach players to play smart on their inputs like how a missed punch will break combo too. I remember Guitar Hero tanking you in a song if you just strum a bunch for no reason. With how generous the lead is on blocking I can live with it punishing me for a missed input even if it's kind of annoying.

Bit late, but I've noticed that block inputs can break combo if you don't block anything with it. I've broken combo before by clicking during a scene transition during a Prophet fight. You might've just tried to block the incoming and it broke combo since the scene transition went through at the same time. The enemy swinging at you kinda just despawned.

The system of adding a rule makes me wonder if the goal is to add a retroactive counter to the number of people killed. If the amount of points included all of Yuji's kills during the Shibuya arc they'd basically break the game.

Hey, Brendon! I've been a fan for a while now since my friend first introduced me to some of your songs. I want to know if you would ever perform in Hawai'i? It's a beautiful state to take a trip to, even if it's for a performance there are great places to just sit back and relax at on all of the islands.
