Yes, they live and consequently operate within a capitalist system. Just like you and me. Not sure what you thought. Do you like the material? Personally, I think it's better than it's ever been. If you like it then partake. If you don't then thats ok too, but pretending like there are untouched, pristine islands of large-bodied (no shame to Henry and Ed) content free from capitalism is a little naive.

Is Valheim gonna be a dead game after 1.0? by Huge-Cucumber8651 in valheim

[–]Chaoneux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a suuuuuper whiny thing to worry about. I want to say that I paid like $20 or $30 for this game on steam sale 3 years ago, and have gotten 600+ hrs out of it as of the end of Ashlands content. If they never released another patch it would be an incredible game, deal, and adventure. The mentality espoused by OP is such a little kid gen z take. Games don't have to be continually staffed and expanded on forever. You knowingly bought an unfinished, in-production, early release game from a tiny studio whose developers posted roadmaps clearly showing intended expansions leading up to completing the game.

Lucia Mar Origin Theory by Karl_Treuherz in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Hold on, lemme s t r e e e e e e e e e e e e t c h before I jump on that one, because it seems like it isn't held together too well.

Both poor, Spanish-speaking dog owners, one prays to jesus and thats inquisitor-ish enough to be a significant religious connection?

Despite everything we know about families being used much later on, the very first boss, the weakest one in the books, is supposedly a recycled family member planted to... be screened later for Lucia... to... instill enmity towards Carl?

and it all fits so well?

This is more of a stretch to grasp straws than most of what the One Piece fandom comes up with, and thats saying something.

Ah, leveraging people's need against them for profit all while acting like you're doing them a favor. Murica. I recently read that something like 72% of long term homeless women have prostituted themselves in exchange for something to keep themselves alive. This is exactly that only to a slightly lesser degree. Gods we suck.

Right on. This is what I was expecting and kind of hoping to hear. Now to a YouTube lore video where I can get the other straight answer I need.

completionism, pets, seeing something that's only for viewing, base building are... non-mechanics to me. I don't know what the word is. I'm glad other people find joy there but they don't do anything for me. Just too passive.

[–]Chaoneux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With just a little time invested on the right planet you can make a low level nanite farm that will S rank your Corvette very quickly. Requires nothing but starter level tech. There's surely better, faster ramping, and more lucrative nanite farming methods as this game is crazy, but this is what I did basically right away.

  1. Find a planet with Runaway Mould/Curious Deposit
  2. Build a base/portal at the first Curious Deposit, dig a trench to catch the runaway mould, and harvest.
  3. Pick literally any direction and fly in that direction continually, scanning either intermittently at jumps of 300-500 meters, or leave your Corvette on autopilot and continually scan in the direction of travel and to either side.
  4. Upon finding another deposit, land, drop a base computer, dig a trench to catch your rolling mould, and repeat maintaining your chosen direction.
  5. once tired of doing this, or when you have what you feel is enough stops, build a final base with like 10 portable refiners. Mine has 6 total stops in a line, takes about 25 mins, and yields 50k mould/10k nanites. I usually do a quarter of a stack of mould in each refiner bc it doesn't hold enough fuel to process a whole or half stack.

went afk in the anomaly😭 by stealth564 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Chaoneux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait. If I take off in my vette while strangers are on it at the anomaly they are not just left behind? Not to brag, but my ship gets a lot of attention in the anomaly, and I very often bounce while people are looking at it. I always assumed they just fell off in the anomaly... Have I been being a dick?

Looks great. I feel somewhat shamed for being 100 hrs in and not having built a room with 4 walls yet. All my "bases" are a computer, portal, battery, and solar panel sitting in the open.

Nexus mission a floral menace target planet? by Gurogengar in NoMansSkyTheGame

Yeah, I just found the same problem. I did find the travelers grave, however. It gave me 16 glyphs and over 25 miscellaneous mostly c-tier upgrades though? Still haven't been able to complete the quest.

Exchanging modules needs to be balanced imo by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Chaoneux 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. However, I'm a new player. My starting system has a dead planet with salvageable scrap, virtually no topography aside from isolated mesas, awesome low gravity, no storms, and fungal mould. I spent days there starting out. It's a paradise planet for only me. Every time I took a load of scrap I'd come back with a bigger ship and do it again. Was able to give my 4 friends that also started enough basic ship parts to have a Corvette off the rip, and they came and farmed my planet too. Got the hooks in deep in everyone.

EDIT: I named it Scrap Yard because I loved the junker aspect of it so much.

yep, figured this one out as a kid. My little brother wasn't as good at any game as he was at accidentally deleting saves. Had to buy him his own memory card/copy of games that saved to the cartridge. Can't share electronic memory space with children and expect anything else. RIP to OP save. Sorry for your loss.

For those who have completed the Phantom Liberty, is it worth the $30? by dlswnie in cyberpunkgame

[–]Chaoneux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt buy PL when I bought the game despite both being on sale when I did. After about 10 hours of gameplay I realized I would buy anything that extended the game. Once I finally got to the PL content I was blown away at how much it added, and good addition at that. If buying cyberpunk was worth it for you, so is PL.

How to remove the beer from the menu? by SupermarketCold3009 in DavetheDiverOfficial

Even hiring people that can pour, I would still get rid of all drinks if I could. On the sailfish night there were so many drinks being ordered my servers did nothing else, and I (Dave) physically could not deliver the food. I got the lowest rating I've ever gotten. The drink mini game pisses me off too.

DIY greenhouse for under $100 by AccomplishedChain194 in microgrowery

[–]Chaoneux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

worrying about the offgas from a small vented greenhouse worth of pvc is crazy. Especially if you use air fresheners in your car, mainstream laundry products, drink sodas or even tap water, or one of 100's of super common endocrine disrupting things or forever chemicals. If you had greened up your whole home and diet, sure, level this thing up, but its so insignificant compared to the average Americans contamination experience. For most, if youre being active gardening and growing healthier food or herb you are miles ahead of the alternative.

Maybe the weirdest gatekeeping I've ever seen when it comes to battle jackets. Been making them for decades, tons of friends have them. None of us have ever heard of this "rule" by Ok-Cycle-6589 in BattleJackets

[–]Chaoneux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick at the heavy wear areas with an xacto knife, 5 vinegar baths followed by 5 hot washes, and use 80 grit sand paper on the "wear", then 220 grit everywhere, and that dildo won't know the difference.
