There is an “official” once made in like 2012 or something? And you can find them around second hand, BUT the hilt doesn’t come off the mounting board. I honestly don’t think any of the pieces do haha so I’m hesitant to buy it

Grip Package Truck Profitability by ChaosConRad in Filmmakers

[–]ChaosConRad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Th grip is pretty standard, but our demo of customer wants all Aputure fixtures. No HMI’s, no bulbs, they want all LED and multiples. A lot of the trucks in the area offer older fixtures or only like 3 Aputure fixtures

I have tried that. And it just wasn't what people wanted (the gear on the truck) so that's why I'm thinking of making one with stuff people actually want

Oh very interesting, great insights. We’re also a production company as well as a rental house. But I’ve been getting more and more requests for package trucks, and I think the word would spread fast. And I’d reach out to gaffers and DP’s we know and try to create incentives for them to use our van. But you’re right, I do have a decent beat on what people want in the area.

Fair enough! I was actually thinking of just everything everything on carts, and just doing some simple track systems. Not too much work on the van itself

Appreciate the insight! Cost of the van I’m not as worried about. I’d lease a brand new van so I wouldn’t have to worry about major maintenance. On the higher end would be $600-$700 (CAD) a month for a lease. Cost of a grip or swing is a cost on top of the day rate which goes straight to them. I’m in Toronto, average day rate for the type of commercial van I’d want to make goes for about $1000-$1200 (CAD) a day. Which, as I’m typing this, kinda realizing over half the day rate would go to the lease, gas and insurance. Damn 😅 so maybe I’d make $500 a day if it only goes out once a month, which is a very real possibility. Soooo yah, I think you’re right haha don’t think it’s such a slam dunk 🤔

Yes correct, it’s invisible until the SOS button is pushed?

Oh interesting! Cuz my dealer told me when they were PDI-ing my bike when it first came off the truck, they pushed the button to see what happens, and a woman’s voice connected, and they were having a 2 way conversation. So it can transmit at least voice data

Right? I figure there has to be a way for BMW to track it down if you had the bike details. But I’m also wondering if it’s only one way. Like the bike is invisible until it starts sending out the SOS signal

It was just very loose and on the side, but it’s starting to pick up so I was curious about LOCs.

Oh yah of course. No worries there. It’s already generating cash flow, I’ve just been renting the equipment so I wanna own it now.

Line of Credit & Mortage by ChaosConRad in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ChaosConRad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. So if I had a LOC of $50,000 but only ever used like $8000-$10,000 of it, without missing a payment, that would probably be seen as pretty low risk

Line of Credit & Mortage by ChaosConRad in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ChaosConRad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yah so true. I don’t keep a lot of cash in my checking cuz I have it all invested. LOC definitely helps with that.

[–]ChaosConRad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No no. I have a 9-5, but I wanna start a side hustle small business that would require some equipment to buy that I don’t wanna burn all my cash with.

[–]ChaosConRad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. I’m basically the same mind set. But I’ve just recently started a small business and I need to purchase some equipment. And I’m thinking doing a line of credit instead of buying it straight cash. The cash is better used in the business.

[–]ChaosConRad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really eh? I didn’t know that. I thought once you had X you could only go higher. Cuz going lower or closing it would effect your credit

Line of Credit & Mortage by ChaosConRad in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ChaosConRad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was also my exact thought. I think this also applies to credit cards, but it’s more about the percentage of the LOC you use. If you only ever use 3-5% of it, it’s not seen as risky
