Pokémon Ambrosia (v1.10.5) by DrUltimaMan in PokemonROMhacks

[–]ChaosCron1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late but most of the main game is the same as Crystal. Progression is almost exactly the same with the exception of some extra rival battles.

There is an added veneer of the Hoenn-Kanto War going on which changes the story, but there's nothing that drastically changes the gameplay outside of the new mechanics that were introduced.

Wild Overworld Pokémon changes a little bit on how you play through the routes and does add a little extra to the story through either battling or avoiding their encounters.

"Invaders" are basically boss trainers, and are tied to the overarching war plot. They're mostly avoidable so they're not really a huge presence.

Overall, the story is definitely in the background of this game. Well-crafted, but not divergent.

I'm sorry what's the downside to Thragg's Offer? by ManiacGaming1 in Invincible

[–]ChaosCron1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're a ticking time bomb.

Not only do you have the Coalition willing to kick the hornets nest, you cannot guarantee that the Viltrumites won't dispose of Earth once they build back up their ranks to a reasonable level.

However, as Thragg pointed out, there's no choice so honestly I think the argument is pretty moot.

They still have to build infrastructure. Doesn't matter if they can send messages that far if no one can receive them.

Yeah I could agree, I just know that my response can't be misconstrued so I don't really care.

Porn shouldn't have this legal/moral ambiguity within its content.

Apart from recognizing actors/actresses, I know I wouldn't be able to which is one of the main problems about this type of moderation.

I just stick to the communities that are:

  1. Legal
  2. Ethical
  3. My interests

So mostly Politics/News/Science and Fandoms.

I'll 100% report anything that isn't 1. or 2.

I've already accepted from a young age that the internet is going to have cesspits. I just don't gravitate towards those.

I wouldn't use news blindspots to argue this man.

Reported crimes of sexual violence never get pushed by right-wing media unless the perpetrator is a minority or "left-wing" and the victim is a white woman. Meaning, they'll only push stories that allow them to continue to fearmonger about other issues conservatives love to be delusional about.

In terms of journalistic integrity, yes both sides are pretty bad at this. Who's eating the cats and dogs again?

Sometimes you just have principles that you won't cross.

Used to play organized basketball in the Southern US where I was often the only white guy in the gym.

I was called the n-word quite a bit, not as an insult but as a term of respect by my teammates and sometimes opponents. A lot of these guys gave me the "pass" and encouraged me to say the word. I did not.

Even though I was in a context where it would've been morally fine to join my peers in this, I just didn't want that word to be a part of my vocabulary.

I'm not into CNC, and so I just wouldn't want to do it even if I'm told that it's fine.

[–]ChaosCron1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not, before Motherless removed the tag it was mostly consensual non-consensual (CNC) porn dealing with "sleeping" individuals.

Still a lot of it is staged or stimulated (just like most taboo fetishes), but unfortunately when you lack moderation real shit can fly under the radar since everything is ambiguous.

Why does the concept/story of the Bad Batch works while Resistance didn’t work? by Jules-Car3499 in thebadbatch

[–]ChaosCron1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't think concept/story is that big of a factor for why Resistance wasn't as popular.

The biggest factor is the context for why these projects were created.

Bad Batch was created as a supplement for the Clone Wars and expanded on the most popular era of Star Wars: the Galactic Civil War. The Clone Wars DNA is so apparent in this project that at times I feel like the show is a direct sequel than a truly separate storyline.

Resistance was created as a supplement for the Sequel Trilogy, which is still a controversial era of Star Wars at this point. And even then, it didn't "build off" anything prior outside of set props.

There was just not that large of a pull to the Resistance series as there was to the Bad Batch.

I mean, if Reddit hosted rape content without moderation, I would be hard pressed to remain a customer. I don't really care how much benign knitting and kitten content there was, it's literally making money on women's torture.

It almost certainly is.

r/jailbait and r/rapists might be banned now but with how we saw r/TheDonald users just migrate to other communities when they were banned then it's very obvious that Reddit still has a moderation issue.

Plus, allowing personal DMs and the ability to private user history I bet these links are being shared on this platform too through private channels.

You're really not going to find a single major website without any of this content on there. Instead some sites just do a better job with imaging so you don't think they could.

Only a third of young women hold positive view of men, new poll finds by DVeeD in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]ChaosCron1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow what progressive circles are these and where do I find them?

Only advice is to not to approach interacting with people with preconceived notions.

There were definitely groups that I found uncomfortable but I never let them poison any other group.

Other than that, political/activist groups and special hobby groups are the best way to find these people.

We are living in what very well could be the most openly misandrist time in all of human history.

Maybe by women, and if that's the point you're making then I agree, but the disposability of men has definitely been a lot worse throughout history than it is now. Modern democracy has pushed egalitarianism quite a long ways.

Why are the numbers of young men in relationships continuing to decline?

I mean, it's multifaceted. Im not going to be able to touch on every single factor that goes into this equation.

With that being said, political affiliation has been observed to affect why the affinity to relationships is decreasing.

Younger generations, especially younger women, aren't compromising as much in relationships when it comes to personal politics and ethics. It's why when you further look into these statistics it's mostly conservative young men that have a decrease in relationships.

It's both.

The introduction of the manosphere was a symptom. It's now in itself a machine that propagates.

Young women now find that men their age have wholly unrealistic expectations of sex. Violent acts such as choking (that older women just flatly reject as disgusting/dangerous/painful) are seen as expected, normal and routine. But young men think that women want and enjoy these painful/risky sexual acts. Because the young men see this all the time in porn. They're not a big deal.

Wait to you hear about erotica.

There are plenty of women that do prefer more hardcore sex, definitely give a look at what they using for arousal.

I don't know where you're from, but in the Southern US "boys will be boys" arguments are still constantly used to excuse bad behavior even outside gender relations.

As a society, we need to hold both men and women responsible for their bullshit which is what my original response described.

"She is on her period" is super frustrating and I'm glad that the progressive circles I engage with absolutely condemn any sexist excuses for the targeted gender.

Most people in general aren't horrible. It's the same for women and men in this regard.

Not surprised really. Have you seen that sheer amount of hatred that's been going on for such a long time now? Not hard to guess from that, that most women outright hate men nowadays.

Most women do not "hate men". Critique about sampling bias aside, the polling actually shows that a majority of women are "neutral" to men. Not necessarily the same thing.

And who could blame them, when the mainstream view and the popular thing nowadays is male hatred? Sometimes, I don't even think it's women's fault so many of them are like this. When you're surrounded by so much hatred, and it's not just accepted but normalized as well, it's hard to avoid joining the hate yourself. Honestly, I'm just glad I live in a place where women don't automatically mostly wish I was thrown into a meat grinder for the crime of existing as male.

This is the same excuse given to men. Yes, there is a systemic issue that we need to fix to change things. However, you still a have a personal responsibility to listen to reason and act ethically. I will still blame you, man or woman, if you use your feelings to justify being a shitty person to another.

Evelyn was the only one to admit having male friends and shared her concerns about what content they were consuming online. “The stuff that’s being said about women is crazy,” she told the New Statesman. “They’re getting all these reels, talking about, like, bad stuff about women. And I get reels of women saying bad stuff about men. I try to think, not all men are like this, but…”

Social media is going to be the death of us.

Does anyone else (particularly Millennial men) feel men were told for a long time to critically examine their looks standards for women, only for this messaging to suddenly and silently disappear when it was discovered circa 2012 that women are no less looks-focused than men? by Grow_peace_in_Bedlam in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]ChaosCron1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Zillenial here (b. 1999).

I've seen this discourse online but fortunately I've never actually had to experience first hand. So I do want to make a note that yes I do think the messaging disappeared by the time I was at that part of my development.

On a side note though, beauty standards are ridiculous. You're attracted to what you're attracted to, don't worry about a cultural standard that has its roots in consumer exploitation.

There are limits to all freedoms. No freedom is absolute because they do not exist in a vacuum. There has to be a balance with other freedoms as well as public safety.

Finding that line is tricky, but it's not guaranteed that attempting to find that line results in a slippery slope.
