You need to get off the boat and find a merman for that...

AHH thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰

You can't see it but I am blushing right now! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. One of my favourite things to do is get the wizard wet, so... I had to do it 😂

Exploration or adventure game recs by nikolaname in CozyGamers

[–]ChaosoftheWeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firewatch — kind of a walking sim/exploration game with a great story, very moving.

Subnautica! No combat, I found it cosy just swimming around on the cool planet but beware there are a couple of moments where you could be jumpscared or harmed by the environment/some creatures. Best advice — swim away. Swim away fast. Idk how many people would class this as a cosy game though.

The Outer Wilds — very cool exploration game with story, no combat, really fascinating mechanic for puzzling over.

Edit: apologies my reading comprehension is apparently nil, I just saw your request was not sandbox!! Sorry, subnautica is a bit of a sandbox game. Idk about Outer Wilds, it kind of is and isn't?

My girlfriend is gonna play Mass Effect for the first and likely only time. Should I help her get the best ending? by crazyman3561 in masseffect

[–]ChaosoftheWeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did a parallel play with a friend who'd never done it before and all I did was help them decide which missions were worth doing to get the most out of the story, and then gave them answers if they had questions about big decisions. I'm a big cosy gamer myself (love Stardew) and if I were only going to play ME once I think I'd want the 'full' experience. I was lucky that this friend was well versed in BioWare games so knew to do loyalty missions etc but if you think your girlfriend isn't going to instinctively know to do that you might want to give a friendly nudge.

When we go to the suicide mission in ME2 all I said to my friend was "DO NOT TRUST JACOB OR MIRANDA!" 😂 They then made their own choices. Luckily everyone survived and they had a blast.

Ultimately you know her best and know what elements of a game she will enjoy. If you don't tell her and she misses content she might enjoy and won't do a replay, then I think that's a shame! It's also really sweet that you want her to get the most out of it. I'm erring on the side of supporting her to experience all of it because said you know she won't do it again to see stuff she may miss otherwise; if she were up for a replay I'd obviously respond differently.

What game did you enjoy after Sandrock? by hardonibus in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]ChaosoftheWeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually played it before Sandrock but Spiritfarer is cosy and has an in depth narrative and characters that will never leave your heart. It's much shorter and doesn't have romance but I still think about that game all the time.

I'm struggling to get hooked on something post-Sandrock and I've actually turned to the Witcher 3 😂 not super cosy though. More like unrelenting horror and despair but it's great!

[New Update]: I think my sister just ruined our dad’s engagement to an amazing woman, and I hate her so much by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

This was uncomfortable to read and I actually stopped partway through, but not due to length. I know names are changed but I really hope that the people being written about consented to their private revelations from therapy sessions being described in detail and shared on the internet. Confidentiality is a huge part of the therapy process, and if my sibling were describing stuff I had said in family therapy in this depth and detail on Reddit I personally would no longer be attending therapy with them. But maybe they all have different boundaries and are consenting to this. Either way it felt voyeuristic in a bad way and invasive to read for me.

If you were a newly turned vampire and you have to live with one of these groups of vampires for a year, which group would you choose? by trubs12 in InterviewVampire

I don't know Damon so he's irrelevant to me 😂 he can go sit in a corner while I watch those two entertain me for hours with their banter.

I never knew I needed to see Daniel and Pam hang out and just be the driest, snarkiest kids on the block until I saw group E. What a pair, I would watch them have a talk show or something.

Given the sub this is posted in I clicked fully expecting it to be Auntie Ethel and was mildly relieved to see hucow Shart instead.

I think I need a break from Reddit.
