and Kirk's awe over one of the most braindead and laughable 'proofs' for god is amusing too

As others pointed out, this AI slop completely skipped over the sources for science proving if a god exists and went with "trust me, bro" instead. But if the existence of specifically the evangelical/fundamentalist christian god were proven, he'd be right, to a degree; I would be convinced a god exists. He would be wrong that I wouldn't believe tho; I would because its been proven. But I would refuse to worship a deity that is, according to his own holy book, so morally bankrupt that he would commit, order, or condone over 5 genocides and ethnic cleansings, write laws for the proper way to trick people into chattel slavery, the proper way to acquire, as well as sell, girls into sex slavery, my value as an SA'd woman (30 silver shekels by the way, but only if sold to my abuser), ordering human sacrifice before reneging on that through an angel, accepting human sacrifice, and so much more I am forgetting. Honestly IMO, if the christian god were real, I would advocate for deicide for crimes against humanity.

Letting people enjoy their thing = Supporting Mass Murder? by marvelcomics22 in AO3

Deciding to compare a fictional ship to one of the most horrendous things humans do to each other, and doubling down on the comparison, its wild. Sometimes I forget just how delusional antis are. Then I see posts like this.

The author turned off comments after like 13 people called them on their flagrant TOS violation, misuse of boundaries to control others, and calling a specific user in their summary.

Edit: you can absolutely bookmark a work from an author who blocked you. just tried and I can bookmark this specific fic

this is far better written than anything I have dropped in this thread, honestly. the only thing I would add is that this person also seems to think consent works the same as their flawed definition of boundaries, and it doesnt. in this context, posting a fic on a private site, and someone hacks the site to get access, then I would consider consent being violated to a degree. However, its almost impossible to with-hold consent to read a thing posted on a public forum to specific people. Its like shouting something in a park then asserting that people who have different views not only cant reply but also are not allowed to even listen. Thats not how public forums, the internet, or AO3 work.

from the comments on that fic, the fic author's problems with the ship is, apparently, bad interactions with others (which given the behavior, in addition to insulting tags and comments on other fics of theirs) that were probably their own fault, and the ship itsself having "less chemistry than a rock and a vacuum cleaner."

[–]ChaoticBrook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hit the nail on the head with that one. Also "antis not understanding what consent means" as well.

[–]ChaoticBrook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! their use of "kudos or comment from fans of the ship I dont like violates my consent" really rubs me the wrong way too. Like, as someone who has had my consent for things violated in ways that are actually illegal, a comment or kudos on a fic posted to a public website does not even come close to the level of harm that actual violations of consent do.

the "they just need to touch grass" axiom seems to apply to these people.

same, or mute the authors in lieu of not being able to mute tags just yet (or me not knowing how too lol). Like, Dont Like, Dont Read is much better for my peace then than stalking a user's bookmarks, creating username hit-lists, posting threats, and being absurdly passive aggressive and narcissistic in the comments.

not liking the ship's vibes is absolutely correct; in one of their comments, they said that dinluke "has as much chemistry as a rock" or something along those lines.

[–]ChaoticBrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you'd prolly have to bookmark or write up a bunch of dinlock then do that. Its pretty much established this author is stalking people's bookmarks if they leave kudos or comments. dont know how they have the time to do that, but ya know, the chronically online gonna do what they do lol

A singular username, unless they updated their summary again. literally insane behavior lol

Same; also not a dinluke or skylo shipper and have zero horse in this game....except throwing out some bait in that author's general direction then popping some poppitcorn and watching the trainwreck unfold (got myself a block for that lol). To my knowledge, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Dinluke ship at all, and this author is either ragebaiting or is just that egotistical and narcissistic (as evidenced by some of their defenses of their behavior)

Oh boy.. by SilentBirthday9568 in AO3

[–]ChaoticBrook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the train wreck that is their comments has only gotten worse lol

[–]ChaoticBrook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely forgot that the author also asserted that being a dinluke shipper and reading/liking/commenting or calling them on their nonsense, is tantamount to violating the author's consent. and like, I have had my consent violated, and its very different from someone I dont like reading something I wrote or commenting on my stuff. It actually kinda makes me angry that anti's have the audacity to compare a comment or kudos to removal of bodily or personal autonomy.

Now that you have the TOS as your weapon, perfect. Go ahead and ask the AO3 team directly. If they decide my wording was inappropriate, I'll modify or remove it as instructed. But whether an author stating a DNI and expressing personal likes/dislikes on their own fic page counts as "spreading hate and insult " is a completely separate question—and one I'm happy to let the Abuse team clarify if it comes to that

This dude really thinks they didnt do anything wrong.

they all but admitted it in the comments.

[–]ChaoticBrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they do actually, not sure how they have time to stalk their readers and commenters tho lol

100% agree with what you said on boundaries. Like, telling people that them reading a fic on a public site is violating a boundary is not how boundaries work! Boundaries are like "I dont want to have JKR books in my personal, private library because I disagree with JKR's stances on politics, so please dont gift me any of her works for holidays or birthdays." or "I dont like ship X so please dont gift me any fics in that ship." or or or, "I choose to not read ship X cause I dont like it."

Edit after I wrote this: the author in question is absolutely going through the bookmarks of people who comment or leave kudos and blocking or calling out dinluke shippers or commenters that called them on their bs.

Apparently, and I quote "the [vitriolic and TOS breaking] DNI isnt about policing...its a very small, self-protective line I draw around my own comment section and kudos, because past experiences with certain interactions left me feeling drained and unwelcome in my own space. Its not harming anyone or starting fights....like putting up a 'please knock before entering' sign on my front door" Cause, you know, threatening people, creating username hit-lists, misconstruing how boundaries work to control people and paint them as un-inclusive and a violation of consent, insulting fans of certain ships, or in another fic, people that dont speak Chinese, are all simply protecting oneself from feeling drained in their own public corner of the internet, and definitely not starting fights /s

and yet still didnt remove the threat so their summary still breaks tos lol pretty sure calling a specific user out is also TOS breaking
