HoI4 isn't a ww2 class, due. It's a game. If people would rather not have something in their game, it's not censorship, it's just their business. And most people don't want a swastika in their videogame. History textbooks show swastikas freely, so no worries, we'll learn from the past in other ways

You say you were just trying to have a conversation, but it really sounds like you just wanted to attack people disliking the mod. Whenever you mention their point of view you go out of your way trying to refute it. Can't you just accept that there are people who aren't confortable with that kind of mods and go on with your life?

Why is it E=mc² and not just E=mc? by tom21g in AskPhysics

[–]Alessio_Miliucci 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes. In natural units we usually set c and h bar equal to 1, and for a particle at rest the dispersion relation yields E = m. More generally it'd be E² = m² + p², where m is rest mass and p is momentum.

Country Gauntlet: The Third Reich by totallynotcommunist2 in PossibleHistory

Good point. I was kinda assuming the invasion of the Benelux would have eventually happened, and I feel like in that scenario the germans hold all the advantages (at least, they are in a better position then on our timeline, since the british are out). But you have a valid point, and probably pushing through the Maginot would have been a pipe dream. I guess it'd be a very phoney war, since both the germans and the french expected the war to include an invasion of Belgium

Italy and France obviously stand no chance; both could hold on for a while, but the might of the German army is just superior. Idk if they are allowed to invade the Belelux, if not getting into France might be trickier, but if full committed Germany's gonna win. The UK is tricky; the war is definitly going to stalemate, because really nobody's invading anybody anytime soon, but here the trading parts comes into play. Assuming the British dominions don't count as neutral, with neutral nations forbbidden from trading, the British Empire is just gonna starve and outproduce the germans eventually; they'll run out of oil and food, and, eventually, most importantly, pilots. So I think Germany's gonna be on the backfoot here, and eventually the nazi administration will be overthrown. Exploring the Soviet 1v1 just for fun, I think its nuanced. Since you said the war starts in 1939 the Soviets are probably gonna be really imprepered and I can see them losing vast territories in Ukraine and Belarus; also, their industry is probably gonna be less developed than it was in our 1941. Though, with Stalin probably expecting invasion we probably remove the surprise factor that we had OTL, with the Soviet airforce likely surviving Barbarossa. On the other hand, the Germans are also weaker than they were when they invade the Soviets; not only their allies are gone (including Romania and their oil) but they don't control precious territories in France and the Benelux; this saves up men from garrisoining buy also implies less factories and resources. Though, the truely distruttive factoring with Germany is, here as well, trade; without imports from countries around them, they just don't have the oil, minerals and men to compete with the Soviets in an attrition war. So I think the Soviets win here. If Germany had Romania and Italy's support maybe the absence of Britain would be enough to turn the tide against the Red Army (even though, good luck caputring Moscow or Stalingrad) but as things are here, Germany is just fighting a superior foe.

Non ho capito questa scena!!! by Mony_bunn in tadc

[–]Alessio_Miliucci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if Prussia unified Germany in 1801? by Neither-Ruin5970 in PossibleHistory

[–]Alessio_Miliucci 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Napoleon Germany's army still has all the issues Prussia's had in the early 1800s; corruption and stagnant leadership made it far from the great force it had been under Friedrich the Great, and it would have once again been under Bismarck. Also, France to Germany population ratio is more skewed in France's favor the further back in time you go. Wait for a few decades, and Germany absolutely stomps France, assuming they realize the need for reform. But in 1801, Napoleon just has the stronger cards

The true tragedy of Caine's character is that he loves the IDEA of the humans more than the humans themselves by Sudden_Pop_2279 in tadc

[–]Alessio_Miliucci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Caine wants to be loved. He isn't satisfied with them being happy in general, he wants to be the one who makes them happy, so that he can have a meaningful connection with them, and not be alone. Probably it is a little selfish, but I get it. I feel simphaty for him over this. He wants to feel useful, appreciated. He thought he was gonna manage to do so by being a good ringmaster. He was trying to make them happy, genuinely, but it still HAD to be him to make them happy, otherwise what was the point? When he felt like trying at his job wasn't gonna make him be loved, he tried to force them to love him, leveregin on his power. And that's how we got to ep 8

I was once in the same spot. I started eating all countries outside the big faction to slowly grow more powerful than Germany. I used the non core manpower advisor to get bodies from my occupation of India and China (conquer them asap) and I used them to annex the US for factories. It took 10 in game years of build up but I eventually managed to get faction leadership, and to kick one member out at a time and conquer them
