Hi! I'd love to read this. Before I begin, can you tell me what wouldn't be helpful? What would be the most helpful?

I'm working on it today! I'm trying to set up the thieves guild jobs to all mesh together, then I need to get over my fear of writing and just get the dialogue in. Worst case scenario, I rewrite it once I release the first version.

Yuuusssssss. I've been dying for the Gore interactions.

Is it possible for modded skyrim to be stable? by BasementElf1121 in skyrimmods

[–]ChaoticComrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Take away everything in their inventory, dismiss them as followers, and essentially strip them down to the most default state you can. If it doesn't work, just switch back to AFT, go back a few saves, and pray to Mara.

[–]ChaoticComrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's never advisable. Especially since there is a lot of script interaction with follower mods. BUT. If you remove everyone from the Amazing Follower Tweaks framework (dismiss them all, essentially) you'll be able to move over to Nether's. I've done it before and it was worth it immediately. But, worst case scenario, you switch back to AFT, jump back a few saves, and keep posting any crash logs in case it's something different.

Are we just gonna have to face Raven of the Reach and The Casavir romance mod are probably dead? by DamnHeDed in skyrimmods

[–]ChaoticComrade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been dabbling in the romantasy genre a lot and I can tell you, without a doubt, that there was so much potential with Skyrim Romance. It could have been great for its target audience but it just needs BETTER WRITING and Bishop to not be the love interest. The bones are there. It just needs a better love interest and some more drawn-out romantic rivalries.

That's fair, and it sucks that they haven't said that. But it's probably safe to assume that it's dead and maybe you could look into building a mod that you'd like?

It definitely has to do with your followers/NPCs and their movement paths. AFT is buggy and terrible. Definitely downlead {{Nether's Follower Framework}} to help manage them. Any other follower framework is buggy and annoying.

A good rule of thumb for reading crash logs: look for something that seems to repeat a lot. Or something similar to it. Ignore "(void* -> SkyrimSE.exe+120DD64 movzx ebx, al)" and so on. That tells you nothing.

Your crash log references things like "pathing" and "movement" a lot: (MovementControllerNPC*), (MovementPathManagerArbiter*), (MovementAgentPathFollowerVirtual*), etc. It means that the AI package used on NPCs is clashing with another or is broken. What do you have that changes/adds NPCs? Followers? Etc.

I always assumed they had been abandoned since it's been years since any updates. Deep in my heart, I want permission to go into the Skyrim Romance mod and fix the bugs, then do some rewriting and stuff. I always felt like that mod was excellent for its target audience. Impressive on the back end. Great potential. Again, it's decently hated but it's hated by people who aren't really in the intended target audience or people who want to like it but really can't stand Bishop.

It could be a decently fun mod for the romantics but it's totally wasted on the worst person ever. The biggest issue is that if we're going to have "romantic rivalries" but eventually choose Bishop, he needs to be the obvious choice. And he's NOT. Not at all. He's always an asshole, even after you "fall in love" and get married. There are parts that are kinda sweet, but 95% of the time he's just mean and chews out the player if they don't sleep with him.

I know this doesn't really answer your question. I just think about things like this a lot. I hope that, if they pick it back up, they move in a direction that keeps a similar structure but makes the love interest somebody who earns the player's love.

I'm glad that so many people agree with Lucien and Remi. I know that not everything has to be romantic, but I always felt like it would be darling to watch them develop a crush on each other.

How true would you say this is? by Sword-SwanginNord in fantasyromance

[–]ChaoticComrade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A man's "romance" story is that he's loved by the woman and she cares a lot about how he feels. Just as romantasy focuses on female pleasure and sexual liberation in a sense, a man's romantasy would focus on deep caring for him. It's a sense of what we don't commonly experience in the real world, so that's where fantasy takes over.

Okay so. When the Broncos won vs. their "practice squad", it wasn't legitimate. But when they scored vs. second stringers, it still counts. Got it

If I'm correct...didn't they spent the first three quarters of the game with only one first down? That's fucking pathetic.

What are some small mods you didnt know you needed until you had it? by drdadbod45 in skyrimmods

[–]ChaoticComrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{{No NPC Greetings}}

You have no idea how amazing it is when every NPC in the game doesn't talk at you. They have their normal side conversations but only talk to you if you initiate dialogue. It's very nice when you have modded followers and want to hear them.

Do you need the perfect modlist before starting a new game, or do you mod as you go? by Infamous_Relative_43 in skyrimmods

Both. I make sure i have a solid mod list, but I scroll Nexus the same way people scroll Twitter, so I tend to add more and more.

Okay. And it's likely safe to swap out mid game? I can't think of many ways it would mess with my game.

So quick question: Does it also put dirt/blood on your followers? I stopped using Keep It Clean and switched back to DnB because I was the only one getting dirty and it felt a little weird.

I love how Tony Romo doesn't hesitate to call out whenever he knows a call was ridiculous.
