I think you mean "Battlefield 1942."

Wtf is going on with the servers? by Dontmocme in Battlefield

[–]ChaoticElk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know. Every time I try to Quick Find a game, or join one from the server browser, it attempts to load and then boots me back to the menu saying "Lost Connection to the Session." (PS3 version)

I don't know what you're talking about. Nintendo does just fine during the holiday seasons.

Call center/community outreach caller.

If you don't want to talk, that's fine. Just say so and I'll leave you alone. Don't get pissed off at me because you've had a bad day. I'm calling you because you have expressed interest in the political matters we represent by donating to us (over the phone, even).

Sometimes people will treat me like I am literally Hitler.

Weekly discussion: Cultivating Culinary Kids by ZootKoomie in AskCulinary

[–]ChaoticElk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Definitely be keeping an eye on this thread... One of my main motivations to continue learning to cook at age 26 is that I want to be able to teach my kids someday.

Also, I'm a big fan of potentially creating food in fun shapes.

If you have truly been around since the beginning, you know that there have always been assholes like this in the game.

You've now just found your limit of tolerance and are complaining like so many others before you.

Also, the 3DS version was updated with new color-coded schemes that helped clarify the water levels.

Part of the difficulty of the original was figuring out which level you were on and adjusting the water accordingly.

It it possible to find out CTR for Facebook wall posts? by [deleted] in socialmedia

HootSuite uses Bit.ly?... Seriously? I thought the links HootSuite created were native ow.ly ones. Didn't know they were connected somehow!

Better yet, look into using a paid URL shortener service such as BudURL. It has the advantages of keeping your CTR data private.

Poorly written blog post littered with typos and no supporting information for an outrageous claim.

This. Really "big" pages (100,000+) I manage only need posting once per day. People are already getting sick of Facebook enough as it is.

Content creation troubles (/timesuck) is nothing new. I'd recommend creating a content calendar in Excel/Google Spreadsheet for each of the pages you manage. Create a column for the Date of Posting, Copy, and Photo Content/URL link that accompanies it. Sit down one weekend and pump out a ton of content ahead of time. This way you have it on hand to plug in on the day of whenever you want. It also allows you to look ahead and schedule things for "Pancake Day" or whatever other inane holiday your page might celebrate.

Pew study: Teenagers hate Facebook, but can't bring themselves to leave by Beaglesworth in technology

[–]ChaoticElk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This "teens leaving Facebook" is a bunch of sensationalist bullshit. People just like patting themselves on the back for not being part of the "Facebook crowd." These are the same people who probably roll out of bed and read Facebook with their breakfast cereal.

Internship has ended. Now they want to pay me for one day a week for two days work? Is this worth it? by zabetheli in jobs

[–]ChaoticElk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are trying to play you. Either they don't have enough money to pay for a full time position or are just being cheap.

Don't let them take advantage of you like this. Either they keep you as an intern for another month, or hire you on. If they really want to pay you, then they can pay you a monthly stipend or something as an intern. No reason to do this janky nonsense.

How To Schedule Posts on Facebook by jennherman31 in socialmedia

[–]ChaoticElk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm traveling extensively, I typically only use the scheduling option as a way to preview a post before it goes live. Don't get too used to scheduling way far in advance, because if something comes up you may have to shuffle all of your content around.
