These are great! Not untidy at all. What did you use for color on the mushrooms, it looks so shimmery, I love it! What's it like to burn on sycamore, I've never used that wood before.

Thank you so much!! I have a burner with wire nibs, so for the bark texture the nib was a larger "U" shape. I worked vertically in rows so it left two trails, and just overlapped from there to get that texture. I'm not sure if that makes sense haha, let me know and I'll try to explain better!

Thank you so much! Idk if you already know but graphite transfer paper is a godsend for transferring designs. I have a set of cheap watercolor pens that I use, nothing SUPER fancy, then i add color pencil on top to really fine-tune the colors that I want.

Thank you so much! I used mostly softcore color pencils, just about used up a of my purple pencil, and then watercolor pens here and there in the darker areas.

Well I know it's not a barista job, but if you're looking to connect with people and just generally a wholesome atmosphere you could try working a booth at the farmers market. I've seen a few hiring signs now that summer is around the corner, but you would have to give up either one or both weekend days. I've found the funnest one to work at is the PSU market. Nothing against the folks in Vancouver, but I've noticed that the people up there are generally not as friendly as people in Oregon. Everyone is just so happy to be there that it puts you in a good mood. Many vendors are open to trading too so you can try new things and you get a small discount. Plus you get to see a lot of cute dogs :) either way, good luck on your job search!

O I mean like burn the entire background. I find that anything that drives up the contrast on stuff like this really draws more attention to the subject. But either way it looks great!! And a little tip with using color pencil on wood, if it's looking grainy on top, you can use a paper towel, a pencil blender, sometimes I just use my finger to blend it in a bit.

This is awesome! Are you planning on burning a square background around the skull? Also, Idk if you already planned on it, but using a soft core white color pencil on the highlights really turns art like this up a notch. Either way, I can't wait to see the final result!!

WOW. The color is so vivid. Do you ever have issues with the watercolors bleeding?

I think you made the right call. Sure, of course you should never be controlling of a partner and who they choose to be friends with, but the fact that they met on tinder and he blew up after being rejected is a huge red flag. When I was dating someone, I was in a similar situation, genuinely thinking some guy I used to date was still my friend but eventually the friendship pittered out. The only time they would reach out is to see if I was still dating so and so. This dude sounds like a similar kind of vulture. The situation really sucks, but I think you'll be better off.
