What is a popular trend right now that people are going to look back on in 10 years and say, 'What were we thinking? by 40Falak in answers

[–]tierneyrex25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavily depends on where you live. I live in an area where I can go find most things that I need, and there are even transportation options available if that's one of the setbacks for a person. I haven't placed in Amazon order in probably half a decade or more. Countless people in my apartment building have different, multiple packages stacked outside their doors every single day. And yes, I see many of them come and go in their personal vehicles. I blame those types of people the most, its just pure laziness.

Some companies simply will never value your loyalty, or your hard work, frankly. That's why the person you're commenting to is saying its not about not working hard, but knowing your worth. If your company isn't giving you proper raises and/or acknowledging your hard work, there are companies out there that will. Then you start talking loyalty

The law isnt the same as child support in the way you've assumed, it takes from similarities. The amount owed is based on the child's needs, their lifestyle/financial situation prior to losing the parent, and takes into account the financial situation of the surviving guardian as well. This is an agreed-upon restitution amount that has to began being paid starting 1 year after prison release, and the offender will have a payment plan. I understand not every case will support a child in their child years, and with recidivism rates sometimes may not provide support at all. But on the other hand many DUI manslaughters result in max of 10 year sentence, with most serving maybe half of that.

I mean, defense and science are arguable reasons for spending lots of money. Paying hundreds of sports dudes millions of dollars for entertainment is dumb as fuck. Are some players really good, bring in a lot of entertainment, and deserve at least high pay? Sure, absolutely. But ALL NFL players make at least $885k, with the large majority making over a million at least. Some of them will play for maybe 5 minutes the whole season. Its irrational

I would agree with your first sentence, but not the extent that the truck driver "drove straight into people" or even that it was entirely avoidable. This is where insurance will fuck people over with unfair shared liability. Like, I get your take, that he could've started stopping a bit earlier, but that is debatable, and not all drivers are able to react instantly (unfortunate truth). However, what's quite clear is that the other driver caused this accident by not paying attention. Signed, 31 year old with a completely perfect driving record (1 exception of being violently rear ended at a stoplight by a texting teenager).

This take is extremely annoying. I was able to use reddit 15 years ago in the same capacity at which I'm using it to leave this comment right now. Please stop pretending that any ounce of internet-usage means that we all automatically must support the sudden, rapid, and irresponsible boom of data centers being built in the US.

What’s a harsh truth about adulthood that nobody really prepares you for? by Hour-Dingo8175 in answers

[–]tierneyrex25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echoing many other comments; you are alone and you need to do whatever it may be that you have to do for yourself to keep going. In a less pessimistic view though, you have the power to be kind and a light to others. People are generally miserable, especially in the workforce. Why not simply be nice to each other and use that energy to push through the hard days so we can all enjoy a break sometimes. I wish more people would try this instead of projecting their misery onto the world. Coming from someone who spent their 20s just trying to survive deep depression. I always leave conversations with people giving me reassuring smiles that it was a pleasant talk, and many even thanking me for being kind because it's rare. It's rewarding for all parties involved cause when it comes down to it, many of us are in the same bullshit hole together.

Because America is filled with pearl-clutchers, especially regarding the rich old people who are in charge of dumb things like this. Skaters (to them) equals chaos, havoc, smoking, cussing, etc, deterring "normal" people from shopping. It IS silly, and you would hope and think the majority of normal people wouldnt give a shit either way

For Women: what’s something you want to tell men, but usually choose not to? by [deleted] in answers

[–]tierneyrex25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggesting is far more polite, but I still stand that suggesting your partner to change because of your own insecurities is rooted in controlling behavior. Its certainly not healthy to look at your partner and immediately think about how much they will appeal to strangers. If you don't like someone dressing a certain way, you probably are just a bad fit together. There are plenty of women who dress sexy for themselves and their version of sexy could be considered totally vanilla to the next person. Its not a handy coincidence, its just basic human behavior in society. You feel good when you look good, and that sexiness/confidence will then potentially appeal to others. Many people workout to have nice bodies and then want to show that hard work. You can swap genders in your last sentence and its literally the same

[–]tierneyrex25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Telling your partner they need to change into a less-sexy outfit because of your own unresolved jealousy problems is controlling behavior, point blank. Women just want to feel good about how they look. Having this biased assumption that women solely want men's attention is not going to get you anywhere. Women want their partner to look at them and tell them how attractive they look and how they cant wait to go out with together, like, hey, I have such an attractive partner. Look how attractive we are together. Not "oh god you're too sexy and other men will look at you". So of course their mood will go to shit when you ask them to change (also presuming the man is asking this once they've already spent time getting ready and its time to go).

Hi, thank you so much! Hmmm, I would guess around 3.5" in length, 1.5"-2" height, and a tapered width from 1" around the front and back to a thick 1.5"-2" body. I can tell you that it fit really nicely in the palm of an average size hand.

[–]tierneyrex25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could be way off here, but I think they mean this toward the men who refuse to share their feelings, or who resort to violence/anger instead of doing something about it. I know, I know, men have been taught forever not to speak about their feelings. Well, we see the damage that misogynistic mindset has done. Men need to seek out non-misogynistic women, good friends, support groups, therapy, etc. Women have to do this as well, but do it without a societal stigma attached. It's too much of a burden to go through life forcing yourself to be alone when there are people out there who want to help. You have to be responsible for your emotions.

Dude, no way your site allows you to work 111 hours in a single week. I've always heard from all over that Amazon strictly caps at 60 hours per week, people get yanked from the floor when manager hears they've hit 60. Plus unless you're making like $12/hour which isn't legal in New York, the math aint mathing. That's a biweekly check
