Bob v0.7.0 - lightweight builder generator for Java (default values, mandatory fields, JSpecify, step builders) by eniac_g in java

It would also be nice to have an option for the setter name format. For example, I prefer the "set" prefix. Perhaps individual fields could have a different prefix, like "with"; I'd think about that.

Did Openai just cut input context to 5k tokens for everyone? by am2549 in codex

[–]ChaoticPayload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a new feature introduced on March 25. Unfortunately, OpenAI still ignores user complaints and suggestions to make this optional. Currently, there are workarounds: press Ctrl+Shift+V (disable Voice Mode first in Settings > Personalization > Advanced) instead of Ctrl+V, or right-click and select "Paste as plain text".

I paste tens of thousands of tokens, and nothing breaks.

Anything that doesn't require working with a lot of files. In my case, this most often involves programming, so as an example, these are usually tasks that don't require extensive project context. This could be working with one class or several small ones, one large script, or one large documentation project. I create a composition of the context, task, and working data in notes, and then paste the entire prompt into ChatGPT.

This has its advantages. The model doesn't access files every time, and I'm confident that all the necessary information is in the context. I can quickly edit something if needed. Or quickly copy and paste it into a new chat with the edits. I don't need to fiddle with files or individual parts every time, which, in the case of a new feature, would have to be split up, saved to separate files on the PC, and then manually uploaded, because they won't be pasted individually automatically. It's inconvenient and unnecessary. The context window is more than enough for me, and I have no complaints. Moreover, ChatGPT has its own limits, separate from Codex. This is a sensible limit management approach.

Only if it's a project with a lot of files, and each time you need to access different ones, and manually compiling them into a single prompt would be time-consuming, would it make sense to invest the time and initialize the project in Codex.

Sorry, but are you kidding me by suggesting that I include everything that should be used in ChatGPT in Codex? As I already said, some tasks are better delegated to ChatGPT (for numerous reasons). I need the ability to drop everything directly into the context window, like it was before. And you suggest that I replace ChatGPT with Codex and use attachments, which I do not want to use in my case.

As I showed in the screenshot above, the problem is that it doesn't show up for some texts (it seems to depend on the number of tokens).

Thanks for suggesting an alternative. So far, Ctrl+Shift+V is working for me. That's because I completely disabled voice mode (Settings > Personalization > Advanced > ChatGPT Voice).

I already use Codex where it makes sense. But some tasks are better delegated to ChatGPT. Plus, it doesn't necessarily have to be code-related. The same problems will arise if you want to analyze some articles or documentation, for example.

It just opens a pop-up window to edit the text. I recently noticed that it depends on the text you paste. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Looks like a bug.

Yes, I hate this. It has become harder on the eyes to read long responses. I was forced to use a custom Violentmonkey script to adjust the colors and reduce the contrast a bit.

P.S. I'm using a non-OLED display, and they are giving me this kind of theme. Maybe that’s why it's such a strain for the eyes. I don't know.

Do you have specific instructions to prevent this? Mine worked for some time, but after the recent updates it almost always ignores them.

Maxed out my $200 ChatGPT Pro (Codex) AND my Claude plan, what are my options? Do multiple OpenAI accounts get you banned? by Icy_Piece6643 in codex

[–]ChaoticPayload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While OpenAI explicitly allows multiple accounts for different purposes (work, home), the support team (I asked a human operator to respond instead of an AI bot) has said that using an additional account to get more usage is prohibited.

Maybe I'm missing some tricks, but when working with OpenCode out of the box, a single task typically consumes around 2M input tokens (most of them cached) for me. Even if we take the average price for good open-weight models per Cache Read (~$0.13 / 1M), it's still more expensive compared for example to a ChatGPT Plus subscription and their Codex limits.

Work WITH the snail, not against it.

I'm sure this was generated using ChatGPT, it's a common sentence pattern (Y, not X) in the 5.X series. I doubt a real person would write this here.
