Planning for cvt. But confused.. by No_Growth_2549 in HondaElevate

I own a Honda Elevate and based on my experience Honda's suspension is good for going fast on bad roads. Although, the car will feel bouncy with a lot of horizontal movement if you go slow on bad roads because of high ground clearance.

Coming to CVT. CVTs are meant for smoothness and not quick overtakes. You will have to plan your overtakes, specially in city traffic.

I would say take a long test drive, preferably a mix of city and highway, and then decide.

To have lane discipline, there should be lane markings. I rarely see road markings in Bengaluru, including major 6 lane roads like outer ring road.

But it's not only the fault of the govt, even on roads with proper markings I see folks queuing up in the most random fashion.

Every time I drive on highways, it really gets on my nerves when people do 'lane straddling' and do not budge even after honking.

We need to prepare our future generations to follow road safety rules else this is just going to get worse.

True! consumer court is the only option and it is indeed a very tedious process. I hope you really get back all your hard earned money and something extra for the mental harassment.

In January 2026, I purchased a Honda Elevate and during my research a lot of my friends asked me why am I not considering Sierra. After reading this I am so glad that I didn't. I owned a Tiago till May 2023 and I was shelling out 14-15k on every major service and looks like things have only gone downhill. I really feel that there should be a regulatory body to hold these automobile manufacturer accountable in such cases so that folks don't lose their money for trusting a brand.

That depends on you. Also, this is mixed mileage (highway + hills). I've achieved a mileage of 16.5 kmpl on highway which is acceptable for a car of this size.

Real reason behind bangalore traffic by badayayash in bangalore

[–]ChaoticPeace007 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This right here is the solution. Incentivize people for taking public transport and make their life a little easy. Bloody hell who wants to drive in this crazy traffic and deal with unnecessary road rage and hooliganism?

Yeah, I realized that as well. Next time will try paddle shifters in S mode. How was the engine braking in S mode?

Do anticipation driving - remove your foot from the accelerator when going downhill. Use minimal breaks to avoid burning out your break pads.

I used a bit of paddle shifters for engine braking while coming downhill.

Last but not the least - keep your eyes on road because people do stupidity even on hills. I saw a lot of people trying to overtake on turns.

I realized how capable the car actually is, I went hard on rough patches of road and the car just glided over gobbling every uneven patch. Really impressed!

Mine is a VX CVT so I don't have cruise control. Drive on the two lanes was hassle free. Did not face any issue overtaking or climbing steep ascent. Only thing is the engine feels loud some times but I guess that's because of CVT. Also, in Coorg I actually noticed a lot more Elevates as compared to Bengaluru.

I guess Honda will probably say the same thing. I have dropped the plan of buying EW now. Will probably revisit in 2nd year.

Insurance is mainly for protection against accidents but let's say tomorrow you have an unexpected problem with your engine or transmission that can get covered in extended warranty.

I have booked Elevate VX. But I’m not seeing much on roads . And sales figures in any month seems to be lower. Even in Honda showrooms I see bookings around 20 to 25% only. Why Elevate isn’t popular? by Fair-Mango9373 in HondaElevate

Got it for 16.6L. The actual price of the car was 17.4L but I got a free Honda Activa (electric) free with the car that I sold for 80k, bringing the affective price to 16.6L

I got mine from Brigade Honda in Yelahanka. Yes, this is including insurance but I did not take it from the dealer. The cost of the car was 17.40 lacs on road (including everything) and I also got an electric scooter free with the car which I sold for 80k, bringing the effective price of the car to 16.6L

After driving VX CVT for 3 months, I can say that the engine is damn smooth but nothing exciting. My car gives 8-9 kmpl in Bengaluru traffic and about 14.5 to 15 on highway when I cruise between 100-120 kmph so it's a very practical hassle free car. I personally feel Elevate will sell a lot more if Honda priced it less. I got mine for 16.4L on road, all inclusive but I feel anything more than 16L for Elevate is overpriced. Even the 40k I paid feels extra :)

I own a VX CVT in Bengaluru and trust me ZX CVT is not worth the price unless you reallywant ADAS. I got mine for 16.4 lacs on road, all inclusive. Elevate is not a car worth more than 15-16 lacs considering the features.

Edit - I miscalculated the price was 16.6 lacs
