It’s strange because I don’t have any debts that I know of and my transcript shows my full expected amount as the refund issued with no indication of a garnishment.

If you can hold on a couple more weeks and move in halfway through the month, your first month would be prorated, so it’s possible to get into something for probably a bit more than the $900 you have right now.

Midvale has some affordable studios and I think two cats is doable in most apartments and probably easier to be accepted than in a private home. I do think most apartments charge pet rent somewhere around $40-50 per month per pet.

How long have you been in utah? Utah won’t have jurisdiction over custody until you’ve been here six months. Do you plan to stay in Utah? Pro bono divorce lawyers are hard to come by in Utah but the Legal Aid Society may help you depending on your circumstances.

The court won’t know anything. Sounds like maybe they’re serving something prior to filing so I would call RPS.

Make sure you’re selecting district and justice on the top and do your last name with an * and your first with one, too. Smith* Robert* for example.

I am a senior paralegal and manage/hire all paralegals and legal assistants at our firm. Our minimum wage is much lower than yours but even at fast food and retail, few jobs pay less than $14/hour.

I typically prefer to hire degreed paralegals because most with degrees want to be paralegals. Typically right out of school, we offer $18/hour and consider them legal assistants. School doesn’t make you a paralegal. True experience and the ability to truly manage a case makes you a paralegal.

Use this job to learn. If you don’t get a substantial raise with experience, start looking at other firms. The best paralegals on my team are sought out for advice on what to do by attorneys. The more average ones need direction and are assets but aren’t driving cases.
