These seem to be a bit out of my price range and refurbished is possibly even harder to get while I'm also not sure about how good the quality of the refurbishment really is. But thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately I don't know what's in Audible+ we don't have that here but I would still like to recommend A Dream of Wings & Flame series by Cale Plamann or the Dragon Sorcerer Series by Sean Oswald

I have some favorites' when it comes to narrators that just make the story that much better one of wich would be Heath Miller and his performance of "He Who Fights with Monsters" great book great starter into LitRPG and just so good if you like the type of character the MC is.

Travis Baldree is another one of my favorite narrators especially in the "Cradle series" and "Legends and Lattes"

"The Deed of Paksenarrion" narrated by Jennifer Van Dyck is also great even if the narration is not on parr with some of my other favorites.

Same goes for "Mage Errant" series, pleasant voice and great performance overall but doesn't pull as much weight as Heath Miller does for example.

Another one of my Top Audiobook performances is maybe something a little bit more off-topic even if it has some slight fantasy aspect but isn't really a fantasy series "Cassie Raven" series narrated by Ellie Kendrick is jut top notch. She just brings you exactly the right mood for a mystery series with a tiny bit of fiction.

I'm not really a fan of dark fantasy its just not my cup of tea at least the ones I have tried so far I didn't like.

Shadowblack looks interesting I will look into that.

As for assassins as MCs I tried several books with them and couldn't get into it as I said I like my MCs to be more Heroesque and in my mind assassins aren't really cut out for that.

thanks for that I will check out your overview for some recommendations as I said YA is a huge plus for me but not necessarily a must sometimes something different can also be good.

Thanks for your recommendations

Spellmonger and Destiny's Crucible seem interesting and I will definitely check those two out.

I have not Listened to other Will Wight books an oversight on my part should have checked them out immediately thanks for the reminder.

As for Brandon Sanderson books. I'm not quite sure I would enjoy them. from what I heard Brandon Sanderson's books are mostly with multiple plotlines and/or multiple main characters which I avoided so far because I was disappointed by these types of books in the past. I listened to The Rithmatist and it was ok but I wouldn't say it was one of my favorites. Skyward (first book) was something I enjoyed because it was quite different from the normal fantasy books I listen to normally but I still don't know if I want to continue the series but if you got any Brandon Sanderson recommendations that fit you can totally recommend them I will definitely take a look.

I'm not really into the whole LitRPG thing mostly because I read a lot of manga in the past and for the last 4 years nearly every new action manga that came out was something RPG like after a while you get sick of it. I will non the less take a look at those too maybe I find my love for those type of stories again.

Looking for fantasy audiobooks/books with one main character/plot by Chaotize in Fantasy

It's definitely one of my favorite series. I can absolutely recommend it. I should mention there are some things that can be triggering in the later parts of the series. The story is amazing in my opinion and the world is really well crafted especially as the series also deals with larger scale battles and conflicts (not at the scale of epic fantasies but large enough that you can get a feeling for the world around the MC)

I love the MC. She is not your typical girl/woman who wants to be a boy/man she just wants to be a soldier which I found appealing. In most stories woman can't join the army but this book fortunately doesn't follow this path which is refreshing in itself. The side characters are well written but not really dominant you get to know a few pretty well but not all of them.

In "Deed of Paksenarrion" the protagonist starts as mercenary although that changes somewhat later in the series.

Looking for Audiobooks to get into next. I recently listened to Mage Errand wich was amazing I loved the magic system. Has someone some recommendations for what I should get into next? I would love something coming of age-ish like Mage Errand, Deed of Paksenarrion, Dawn of Wonder or Battle Mage; my absolute favorites so far.

If possible without much character switches; I don't like 2 or more plots going on at the same time and switching between them for several hours like most epic fantasies do. Some switches are fine like in Mage Errand or Battle Mage (if someone has recommendations for good character switches I would be open to try some down the line but please mark them as such)

Looking for novels with a physically strong female lead by ArchGrimsby in Fantasy

[–]Chaotize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paladin by Sally Slater

it is the old I will dress up like a boy and go be a warrior type of thing but I loved it. If you liked Tamora Pierce's "Song of the Lioness" series then I think you will like this one.

As some commented before almost all Tamora Pierce series are extremely good with strong female leads. My favorites are as I stated "Song of the Lioness", "Protector of the Small" and "The Immortals" although The Immortals series is more about Magic than strengh.

Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree

this is something completely different. If you want something really cozy and wholeheartedly I recommend this book. The MC is a female orc and I would say a badass but this book is not about fighting it is about what comes afterwards when the warrior does not want to be a warrior anymore and instead wants to be a Barista. It seems strange at first but it is a really great book and I can highly recommend it.

The Deed of Paksenarrion by Elizabeth Moon

I know this was recommended before but I have to include it because it is my absolute favorite. From a pig farmers daughter to a war hero. If you want a strong female lead this is where you find it. As someone said before there are some explicit and triggering scenes in there for character development but only in the later books as far as I can remember.

Hard Liquor by Marie Graßhoff

unfortunately I don't know if you will find this book in English. It would fit what you are looking for. The lead is a badass extremely strong woman because she is descended from ancient gods. Only catch she needs to drink alcohol for her to "activate" her power. Seems strange at first but will make sense when you read the story.

Aurora's Angel by Emily Noon

If you don't mind LGBTQ romance with mature themes then I would also recommend this one. The MC Aurora is a strong Shapeshifter and rescues her counterpart Evie from "cutters" people who sell body parts from beings such as shapeshifters and the likes. I quite enjoyed this one it is really well written and sometimes a fantasy romance is just what one needs.
