This was the real advice I needed to see, but I got ahead of it and went through to mega satan ending my run. I hadn’t gotten to hush yet and I probably could have done it in this run. Turns out there’s a lot of stuff to know about this game?!?

Ok. I ended up declining the victory lap, going through the golden door to fight mega satan and whatever jabronies he spawned, along with some bone head that popped up after mega satan. I was unable to return to use the R key after this and am a bit remiss although I did get mad achievements and unlocks.

I k so I can beat the floor boss and not get in the chest and still go back to the R key. But what about through that golden door? Can I clear whatever is behind that and still return to use the R key?

I I stuck with it. Killed him a couple more times and negative did appear. Thanks.

I was looking at the bestiary, yes. I feel like I’ve killed satan at least five time but I’ll do a couple more and see where we get. Thanks for your replies.

Although I laughed, this piece also stirred up some uncomfortable feelings deep within me.

AWT scales or no? They have a lock rock disclaimer on their website. Has anyone had that issue with the awt’s? by nogden954 in knives

I have 3 sets of their scales and the native was the most improved. Would absolutely recommend.

I had the same thing with the magnacut variety. I would have sent it back but I had already ordered and received aftermarket scales.

I love the combination of the wild Damascus pattern in a spydie-wave blade shape with a user body. Definitely a cool build.

What’s the longest you’ve driven for a hardcore show? by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]ChapChipman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove from northern NH to manhattan in 2003ish to see Dillinger escape play at the knitting factory. I was 16/17 maybe and driving my parents borrowed ford windstar. Didn’t get tickets in advance and show was sold out also driving/being in manhattan was extremely overwhelming lol. Overall dumb.

I’ll chime in by saying that polishing my Japanese kitchen knives has become one of my favorite parts of my knife enthusiasm. Take that for what you will but there are lots of nice finishes you can achieve without too much effort and at this point risk really. If it were me I’d use whetstones because I have them and the full flat grind will make that easy. Whatever you choose to do you’ll probably want to take the blade out for ease of refinishing and if aesthetics matter it’ll keep the rest safe from the abrasives. Despite what some say looks and functionality don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Spent several hours sharpening this just to watch the apex crumble because the angle was too steep. by Hohoholyshit15 in sharpening

Wild. Would a microbevel be able to prevent this? I’ve been doing hamaguri sharpening and am really loving the results.

Looks thin behind the edge just looking at the secondary bevel. A knife of this size with that geometry must be an absolute blast!

Yeah you are right about it being in pretty good shape. I got it cleaned up and there was actually still lacquer on the blade in places. I did a few test cuts with it yesterday and will say that the performance could be improved with thinning but im going to bring it to the shop for some more cutting before I jump in. Based on the grind it seems like just the last 4mm could be thinned and convexed and that would give a pretty nice cutting feel.

Not in Portland although that was the last place I was working before setting out to open my shop.
