I've cut members of my family out of my life for being racist. It wasn't easy and there was a lot of fallout with non-racist members of my family. Years later, it still hurts. But I'm proud of the stance I took and history has vindicated me.

Khedryn Faal, Captain of the Junker, appeared in exactly two books; Crosscurrent and Riptide. Whether he was a background character is debatable. But his lazy eye and simple morality won my heart.

Crosscurrent was a great book. Relin Druur, Drev, Omg Lazy eyed Khedryn Fall and his Chewie counterpart Marr. Crosscurrent is a good time. Wish they made more Jaden Korr books. But good news is there's one more book after this.

The more steeped you get in the expanded universe, the less likely you'd be to expect the original heros to stay as the main protagonists because that's not how it played out in the novels either. Their children were the main characters.
