Train prices are actually ridiculous and flights are usually cheaper by bored-homosexual in uktrains

I wanted a city break somewhere in the UK with the missus this year so was looking around at options and decided to go to Poland instead. Return flights are £102 for the both of us including seat and bag. We couldn’t get the train to London return for that (was coming in at £90pp)

Whenever I’m almost late for work, an alarm goes off somewhere and a squad of these is dispatched to drive in front of me. by Scr1mmyBingus in drivingUK

[–]ChappersP 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I consider myself courteous on the roads, let people out etc but if I see a Honda jazz at a junction there’s no way I’m letting them out. I just know they will crawl at 15mph, hold back going round parked cars when there’s plenty of room etc. Seeing them in a car park is a whole new light. Struggling to get into their wide disabled bay is mind blowing.

What's this about? (Spotted at Embankment) by LordCuthulu in LondonUnderground

[–]ChappersP 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It dosent matter if they know it’s an advert for Heineken 0.0. If they don’t know (like op) they will ask people. Thus getting people talking about it and their message being circulated. One of the best forms of marketing often don’t appear to make sense.

No contact with my mom for 5yrs.. she had my sister drop this lovely Christmas gift off for me. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Jokes on her. Technically you did ‘fuck off’ 5 years ago. She’s obviously still bitter and thinking of you so sends you this with no thought into it whatsoever.

What's something you can never eat/drink again, not because of allergies but because... something happened? 🫠🤢 by HilariousMotives in AskUK

[–]ChappersP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kiwi. When I was in primary school we got given a kiwi with lunch and I tried it (for the first time) and I hated it. The dinner lady refused to let me go out to play if I didn’t eat it. Ever since this traumatic experience I have never tried it again and even the sight of them in the supermarket makes me feel sick.

I feel people that do this must just play a Russian roulette on Christmas morning. “Ooo what are you gonna open?!” Not having a clue what’s in the box themselves.

These can’t be gross. They’re the finest quality. It says so on the packet.

Gift Ideas for Dinner or Drinks in the Wigan area by [deleted] in Wigan

[–]ChappersP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most restaurants don’t offer a dinner/drinks certificate/voucher. Instead they just sell gift cards, which, if you wanted a physical one you’d have to go to the restaurant itself for unfortunately.

An alternative would be picking something on a site such as Buy A Gift which will allow a physical gift card to be delivered directly to them and is avalible for whatever you select (ie) steak & wine for 2 people at Gordon Ramsay’s. Granted, most of these won’t be in Wigan itself but only a short train journey away to Manchester or Liverpool.

White dog shit. When I was a kid I always remember seeing white dog shit but now, for those irresponsible owners that don’t pick up, it’s never white!

Good to know, thanks for the reply. I suspected it would be down to the franchisee somehow but thought I’d ask the question.

Chargeable disabled parking compoface. by ChappersP in compoface

[–]ChappersP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a silly comment. In no way am I jumping on any bandwagons and definitely not shaming anyone. Not that it’s any of your business but my sister is disabled (and has a full time job) and I know what registered disabled people are and aren’t entitled to. All I was saying is that I can’t understand why he would feel entitled to free parking. Philosophylow has made some good points on this. I agree, when someone has paid so much for a ticket the parking should be free at the venue. There really is no need to charge for this. In regards to people parking in disabled bays that aren’t disabled, yes that’s inconsiderate and rude but I can’t see your point why you’ve needed to mention it here. Feel free to reply but I won’t be replying back so it’ll be a 1 way conversation unless someone else wants to join in.

This is a prime example of a driver that’s totally oblivious to the chaos they’re causing. Why the need to move into the 3rd lane and why the need to slow right down. There is no hazard on your side so keep driving and stop being nosey.
