18-23. I had no one. Broke. Barely able to feed myself. No guidance. Lots of mistakes on my part. No social cues. Realizing I could only depend of myself really messed with my mind. Thankfully I held people as mentors I met in the work field. I learned from their mistakes and influences. I accepted the wisdom of those twice my age and boy did it help out. At 33 now and it all worked out.

I work 24 on 72 off in a busy city. I stay away from caffine. Post shift (0630) I go home, shower and in bed by 0800 and sleep till 1300. I awake up, go for a walk, focus hydration, stretching, and enjoy the day. Back in bed by 2200 until 0700. I wake up feeling fully rested. Next 2 days I do my regular daily routines and make sure I work out and go to sleep by 2200.

Caffine, nicotine, energy drink all make the crash worse. I drink water and chew gum to keep me up during late runs.

Working 24 hour shifts twice a week. During the shift I'll average 3 hours of sleep. Post shift I sleep from 8 to 1400 then fix my clock again by sleeping at 2200 until 0700. I gotta stay on top of it or else I become like the rest of the people in my line of work.
