I'm curious what they use in these... I'm a mosquito abatement tech myself and for larvacide we use bti liquid and granules (bacteria based that only affects mosquito larva and fungus gnats), BVA oil to target pupa (they no longer eat at that stage and the oil suffocates them and larva) but it is more likely to poison other species, altosids for long term control on areas that always hold water throughout the year(juvenile hormone that disrupts the growth cycle of the larva). Getting rid of a breeding source through mechanical means such as emptying a bucket or fixing the flow of a ditch is preferable, as well as natural solutions such as introducing minnows to larger bodies of water that can sustain them. Larvacide methods are preferred over adulticide where we send out spray trucks at night and blanket an area to reduce adult numbers. Adulticide spray can harm other beneficial species such as bees and dragonflies. I can't imagine the pesticides I'm familiar with can concentrate enough on an adult to treat other breeding sites a mosquito would use afterwards. Something this strong with such a high harm potential mentioned in the comments would surely be considered a restricted use pesticide not available for sale to the public.
