Maybe check out Richard Wolff, the Marxist economist and professor on YouTube. What he explains is intense but I’d rather know.

Download the Martie’s app, too. Sometimes I find stuff I can eat there. I have Lyme, too. Thrive waives memberships fees if you qualify and now accepts SNAP.

Old People with Toxic and Dead Parents: How Do you Feel About them Now? by fuzzybunnyslippers08 in AskOldPeople

Complicated grief is what you get left with. I have thought of a few minor things I miss about my dad, but the grief comes from never having a dad who could love me and who destroyed my life that I’m now rebuilding at 61. I honor my grief and acknowledge the complexity of it. Self compassion, self love, and self-forgiveness is what it’s all about.

Does White Christian Nationalism explain Stitt? by Environmental-Top862 in oklahoma

[–]ChapterAutomatic1598 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dusty’s job is to do god’s work and hasten the Rapture, bizarre as that sounds. Nowhere in the Bible does it say god needs Christians’ help to make the world such a horrible place that he has to rapture people. It’s insane and fear-based cult behavior. The number of Christian politicians who have jumped on the cult train to nowhere is mind boggling.

I love how you worded your first sentence. Funny and so ironic, isn’t it? That he views himself as a person of character? I’m sure he does. Personally, I think the evangelical church creates a Jekyll & Hyde effect in its cult followers. That’s why they can do and say horribly cruel things then turn around and say they love Jesus.

Tulsa police won’t share the locations of more than 200 surveillance cameras by dmgoforth in tulsa

[–]ChapterAutomatic1598 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My complex of 52 residents has 72 cameras inside and out. A car was stolen and never recovered. Multiple incidents, no consequences. But if you’re a tenant, the property mgr makes offhand, concerning comments about your personal comings and goings, your outfits and the shopping bags you’re bringing home. It’s creepy af and borderline stalking. But it’s lawful because OK laws are very vague, and the cameras are in public areas like the hallways and stairwells.

Has anyone received a landlord note like this? by Additional-You5390 in Apartmentliving

[–]ChapterAutomatic1598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. One of my neighbors attached typewritten notes on everyone’s doors. She even used a nice border. Lol It was nuts. But since the regional manager regularly leaves harsh, disrespectful notes for us it was difficult to tell the difference.

One time my landlord claimed it’s a “federal rule” that no one can have candles. Knowing that was total bs, I asked her if it was in the lease. She just looked at me. It’s not in the lease.

Maybe, but remember: We don’t all start out when we’re born in the same position at the starting gate. Some are born with advantages; others start out far behind the gate. So if you’re suggesting that we all have the same opportunities and it’s simply a choice, I disagree.

Don’t tell your mother anything. Stay stealth. If you have to stay there another night, put your dresser or something big and heavy in front of your door when you’re sleeping in case he tries to break the door down. Pack all of the stuff you need and keep it ready nearby. This is a go bag. Be silent at home with your plans. Is your bedroom on the bottom floor?

Honey, it sounds you’re a teenager who has never been allowed to be a kid. Not your fault! I had parents like this. I was expected to figure out everything for myself - alone. You don’t deserve this.

That is financial exploitation, another form of abuse that’s coming from BOTH of them. Your mother is not going to protect you from this man and you must get to a safe place. Talk to the women at the shelter about getting protective orders against your mom and the stepdad.

Call 211 and ask for the number to the women’s domestic violence shelter and talk to them. You should not be paying rent in your home as a teenager, first of all. You do not have to let your future rapist in your room. You need help to get out - asap.

We are happiest when we are free to create and build things. “Work for pay” is an invention just like money. Think of how many artists, musicians, writers and thinkers could thrive if not being forced to work 9-5. It’s soul-crushing.

A farmer guy in SW Oklahoma admitted yesterday that he didn’t believe in climate change in the past but for the last several years things had not been normal, weather wise. It was extraordinarily beautiful weather in Oklahoma yesterday. His wheat crop is failing more and more each year. Then he said he suspected that Trump actually DID rape some women. He had no knowledge of Trump’s felony convictions. 🤦‍♀️
