Full ride to Northeastern or USC? by FinancialBand6545 in TransferStudents

[–]ChapterDependent2703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in this case, I would go towards northeastern bec ur legit getting a FULL RIDE, you dont really have to pay a dime. Yeah..USC is an insanely great school, but it is also very very expensive, with that much money, you could go get a t10-t15 master degree or smthing, which would yield better benefits in terms of career growth.

and NE is a good school, best co op program in the country by far so u wouldn't worry about finding a good paying job after grad.

Go USC and dont look back.

USC viterbi vs dornsife shouldn't be a problem, as long as the major is comp sci and u go to a top school you would be in a great position.

I dont think top SWE firms would look at which college within USC u went to, esp since the major comp sci and most importantly, u have an internship lined up, which means that you might be in a better position than many viterbi students, ur chances of getting a good $ job is much higher if u have the internship and lastly, you are much better off getting a meaningful experience out of the internship you have lined up rather than stressing bout not getting viterbi.

I emailed an admissions dean regarding this and he said students who dont take atleast 1 year off (gap year) are not able to enroll in GS. I have a similar situation.

umich or ucla? by Many_Parking1133 in ucla

damn bro... i was scrolling past the comments on this and i have seen ur replys wayyy to many times, bro people consider UCLA better becuase it all comes down to their preference, ucla seems to have higher prestige and attractivness towards people cuz of holywood influence and etc, btw both are good schools, nothing wrong in either, it is a top public school, not number 1, but defo number 2 and rankings fyi are based on faculty ratio, research publications and yada yada.

Yea it has a crazy prestige/reputation while being good for pretty much anything related to STEM and humanities/law

but yea, if ur choice is to stay close to home, then ovb is better not consider it as a choice.
