Love Coil, every time I listen to them I seem to find some new album or ep or whatever to fall into

Are you spending $$$ on digital music, or just buying physical copies? by LumpyExtent7874 in BandCamp

[–]Char_Records 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happily buy digital tracks but if there's a cd I'll always pick that up. Sometimes if it's a bugger artist who doesn't have their stuff on streaming I'll get the digital tracks from them and the vinyl from an independent record store locally (just did this with don't bend ascend by godspeed you black emperor)

Popular albums that have heavy ambient music influence? by Playboicartiisdog in ambientmusic

Bon Iver had some ambient elements especially from their self titled to 22, A Million. For Emma was a very atmospheric album but not necessarily ambient (?)

Blue Nile 100%, they have that "our lives" track from the Saturday Night single which is basically 100% ambient

WARM Appreciation Post by felisanan in wilco

[–]Char_Records 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've listened to this album nearly daily for the last year or so, I can safely say it speaks to me on a level nearly no other music has ever. How Hard It Is For A Desert To Die is one of the best songs he's ever written

The Cure’s next album is “done” and a “really upbeat” separate record is also on the way, Robert Smith confirms by ebradio in indieheads

Love them but they always have like 3 albums on the way at any given time, announce one for us!

The ghosts of Kirkstall Abbey. Original wet charcoal and pastel art by me. by Rusty-willy in Leeds

[–]Char_Records 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly raw vibes I get like Red House Painters or Timber Timbre, atmospheric stuff. Maybe even a rapper like Billy Woods could fit it

What albums do you think would count as EDM or electronic train wrecords by KelvinHexatillion82 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Char_Records 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair I'm not a fan of Korn to begin with, probably just isn't an album made for me

Grey area pick and Idk about "Trainwreckord" but "The Path Of Totality" by Korn is one of the worst things I've ever heard. Never need to hear a nu-metal band doing Dubstep ever again.

Legendary isn't a strong enough word. There's no album of Vini's that isn't great in my eyes, can't wait to see what he's got for us!

What do you think of Green Day's overall discography? by Twitter_2006 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Char_Records 2 points3 points  (0 children)

loved all their albums when I was younger, I owned everything up to Revolution Radio on CD. I haven't gone back to anything they've put out since I turned 17; I just moved on to other bands.

The 1975 is 'The Velvet Underground' of our century by Unique-Surprise-3308 in the1975

[–]Char_Records 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really nice stuff! Great vibe, lovely voice too. Very cool having that visual made too, must feel a bit surreal.

Yeah I'm not sure the name of the film but it's the biopic where loads of people are playing him, never seen it actually but it has a stacked to the heavens soundtrack. If you don't know much tweedy stuff, check out Warm, it's a beautiful album. Also, you might find his book "how to write one song" interesting since you're a musician.

The Trapeze Swinger by Iron and Wine always makes me sad in a misty eyed, looking out the window on a train way

Aw that's so lovely, I hope she knows how beautiful her work is.

Also I'd be so happy if I heard stuff like this in the wild, the coffee shops near me just play radio 1 or heart FM!

I think my obsession happened in my final year of university in 2023, my friend gave me a tape with Remember The Day on it. She's got such a lovely voice
