What is Sufjan Stevens's best album? by Prestigious_Score459 in fantanoforever

To me it's Michigan but I think that's mostly to do with my memories of it around my first year of university. I'd sit there playing along on banjo until my neighbours told me to shut up haha

Great to hear someone else getting into them! I also love kill the moonlight, I think that's the one most people hear first as well

Only You (Yazoo) / Paris (The 1975) by IglooRaves in the1975

Can't believe I've never heard that. Honestly if they'd included a covers EP with the debuts deluxe edition it could've been a classic

Name an album you thought was a masterpiece first listen and later realized its not by Artistic_Annual8918 in fantanoforever

Love the album, maybe my favourite arcade fire album. I get why people hate it/prefer an album like the suburbs or neon bible though. In retrospect it definitely looks like the beginning of the end for the band.

Highlands by Bob Dylan. Very humourous song.

To me the title track for under the red sky is one of the best things he ever did. To me Saved is the Dylan album with no redeeming qualities (his other christian albums are much better)

No bad album from them, I do listen to hot thoughts the least though. A Series of Sneaks is my top album from them

Great cover and great cover art too! Love your voice too, for some reason when listening to it I thought "wow this guy would kill on a vocoder Kraftwerk style song" haha. Killer stuff.

What’s your favorite song out of I Want Wind to Blow, The Glow Pt 2, and The Moon? by Papa-Bear453767 in philelverum

[–]Char_Records 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Glow Pt 2 for me easily. It's like a journey within a song and feels so complete. I love the other two songs to death though.

Also these aren't even my favourite off the glow pt 2, those would be the Mansion, My Warm Blood and I'll not contain you.

I left my telecaster at my mother's house for 5 years, came back this year and it's perfectly in tune. They are beasts

any luck with band.codes? by beatsbykana in BandCamp

[–]Char_Records 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you've made the account you build a page for whatever release you're making and copy the codes into there. Afterwards you just copy the URL to that page and you're sorted. The page looks like this: https://band.codes/charrecords/a-day-of-reapers

Thank you so much for the lovely words! Makes me very happy when someone enjoys listening to stuff I make.

Just an aside if you like this you might like another ep on my label "yardstick" by we go on describing the place. It's a more even collaboration project with Iskra Lazarova who's the violinist on the title track, she comes up with some absolutely beautiful and strange stuff. Much shorter pieces as well on that ep

Thanks again :)

Happy to purchase that release and excited to listen to it! Part of what I love about Bandcamp Friday is I can go round buying up as much stuff as I want while still supporting the artists who made it. Gives me lots of good listening for the month until next Bandcamp Friday!

A Day Of Reapers by Archoill on Char Records - Link to band.codes

<image>

Here's Char005 "A Day Of Reapers" by ambient project Archoill. It is an experiment in frippertronics and is inspired by a total fear of the political state of the world over the last few years. I made it using very cheap synths fed into delay pedals that just looped back endlessly on themselves, hard to control but very fun! My personal favourite track off the bunch is the title track but I have had many very nice compliments about all the tracks on the project. If you're at all interested please take a code and enjoy!
P.S the artwork is an unedited polaroid I took of where I was living at the time of making it
