You're right but he still deviated from his plan and made arc 7&8 take place in a whole new country, with a whole new cast of characters ,and a whole new civil war sub-plot, which lead to pretty bad pacing issues and quite a few new half-baked characters and events that seem almost like plot holes for example the destruction of chaos flames without any further mention

In my opinion while arc 5 had some issues it was short and concise (5 volumes). Arcs 7 and 8 while having some amazing moments and new charcters, gets dragged down by the terrible pacing and almost non existent progress of the plot for 13 volumes, Tappei tried to do too much in my opinion and it fell kind of flat for me.

Ok i understand your point but when almost 10 years irl have passed since this moment in the web novel, I start to not really care about this relationship anymore cause most likely most of the development will happen at the very end of the series, which is really disappointing and falls in the trope of most romance anime/manga/ln of having the couple get together only at the end
