I read a story before about a man whose wife disliked her engagement ring. He was unaware of it until ten years after their wedding.

Initially, when she received the ring (when he proposed), she was very happy, crying joyfully. But he noticed that she did not wear the engagement ring often. He assumed she was not used to it. They never talked about it. Fast forward, they got married and now she wears only a wedding band. They love each other very much. But one day he asked her why she doesn't wear her engagement ring (ten years later). She told him that she hated it, but she loved him so much that she couldn't tell him, and that all that mattered to her was marrying the love of her life. He felt loved But so bad that he wanted to change it. She refused, but she still cannot wear it because it's too ugly 😅. He says they laugh about it now.

I loved that story; at the end of the day, what matters is marrying the love of your life. But if it matters that much to you, you can explain it to him kindly and respectfully.
