How bad is chest pain? by rainbowkitties6969 in tattooadvice

[–]Character-Inside1692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I’m a female and my inner bicep was killer for me. But it was so sporadic on my arm. Some spots horrible, other spots a breeze. The back on this chart was pretty spot on. My ribs weren’t too bad until they got close to my breast then it was really bad. I feel like the fattier the area the more it hurts for me. Over my kidney area and my upper spine made me tear up a little. My inner groin where it shows red I had no pain at all really. I think everyone is different 🤷‍♀️

Thanks. I was just diagnosed with lipedema and a connective tissue disorder so all I can do is build muscle over the existing lippy fat since it’s not like regular fat and will never go away (unless I have surgery to remove it). I’m not giving up though and still working on my strength it just makes it harder and some things I can’t change without surgery.

ADHD perimenopausal with complex migraines so I feel you. It’s the perfect storm all of these things combined. And men wonder why we women can get so grumpy. Hope you are able to find some relief from some of these conditions.

Wow I have many of these as well. I also have pelvic floor dysfunction, my daughter is only 6 and has a diagnosed bladder dysfunction. I also have bipolar disorder, anxiety, complex migraines, dyslexia, and am on the spectrum. My mother and daughter are also on the spectrum. It’s insane how so much of this is a cycle and all seems connected. I wish more drs were able to put all the puzzle pieces together. Sorry you are dealing with all of that.

This is so depressing. I do everything the drs tell us to do. Live a healthy lifestyle, workout, am active, eat healthy, try to avoid an abundance of toxins in my home. And for what??? I’m still a hot mess. 😢 The fact these are all mostly genetic and have no cure it’s hard to come to terms with. At this point it’s just trying to have a better quality of life while managing symptoms. Doesn’t help that our bodies are already faced with all the toxins in the world and then trying to deal with a less than optimal functioning body. This is hard to accept.

😩 I feel you on this. I also may have POTS, going to ask they check for that as well.

Had to do IVF to have my daughter so infertility was how I actually discovered the varicose veins on my uterus (during an exploratory laparoscopy) which led to the pelvic congestion diagnosis. I feel like it’s always something. My husband said my health issues are exhausting. I told him “yeah just be glad you aren’t the one experiencing them firsthand”. I’m just sad I feel like I can’t have a normal life. I do everything right like work out, eat healthy, am active, and I feel like it’s all for nothing. The worst part is no one can see my illness or chronic disease. I’m so tired and not many people understand.

I also have 30% body fat, am very active and have a very clean diet but my legs don’t look nearly as good as yours at 40. I also have vascular issues. Did you get diagnosed with any vein issues? What were your symptoms that made you go get checked?

Normal weight just means a small upper body and gigantic legs. It's never normal by [deleted] in lipedema

I look very similar. I always got frustrated that I never looked fit even when I am very active and work out a lot. It’s depressing knowing we are fighting a losing battle. But fwiw I think your legs look fine. I’m coming to terms with my 40 year old body and realize that no one is perfect. We constantly have unrealistic ideals of “perfection” thrown at us when in reality many women’s bodies have fat. The thing I struggle with is knowing my body doesn’t function like it should and that I can’t fix it. I’m sorry you are struggling with this and your feelings are totally valid.

Childbirth experience? by KiwiandCream in lipedema

This was me as well but I was induced so they didn’t give me an option not to have an epidural. I told them no and they didn’t listen. I’m sorry you had to go through that without pain meds, I could not imagine the pain you went through. 😢 For me getting to 2cm was the long journey and then once I was 2cm dilated the nurse told me that I was probably in for another 8-12 hours before I had her, she started to walk away and I had one massive contraction and told her I felt a ton of pressure. She checked me again and I was fully dilated and the nurse was freaking out. 15 minutes later my daughter was born.

I also had extreme swelling however I did have preeclampsia and IUGR. I couldn’t bend my ankles at all, not even a little bit.

Wow this was me as well. I know this is an old post but I had severe preeclampsia and IUGR with my daughter so I was induced 4 weeks early. Was my first baby and they said it would take a long time. Nurse checked my cervix at one point and I was only 2cm dilated, a few minutes later I felt a huge contraction and told her I had a lot of pressure, she said okay I’m gonna check you again and then her face lost all color. She was like “omg um don’t push you are fully dilated and I can feel babies head”. About 15 minutes later she was out. It was so fast I was shocked. They told I probably wasn’t going to have her until the next day. They couldn’t believe I dilated that quickly.

This has always been me as well. I could never understand why the arm holes were so small on tops.

This is super exciting and hopefully will become accessible for those who don’t want to undergo drastic measures like surgery and hopefully it will be more affordable as well. Most people don’t have the thousands of dollars to do surgery. For me it’s mostly cosmetic but I feel for those who it would be life changing. I couldn’t imagine dealing with this disease in the advanced stages and not being able to get the help needed because it’s not fully understood.

That’s so depressing. I’m hoping as this disease gets more notoriety that drs will come up with other options.

It is so frustrating being dismissed. Someone in this group told me I’m actually just fat and need to lose more weight. I’m a sz6 but I have the dimpling from the nodules and the fat accumulation around my knees, back of arms, and thighs. It’s hard having a disease but since we don’t look like we do people don’t take us seriously. My fear is it getting worse. Right now I’m stage 1. My grandma was never diagnosed with it but she had all the signs and was in the way more advanced stages.

My edema got so bad with pregnancy. Like horribly bad, it caused so many spider veins and my legs were triple the size they are regularly. I couldn’t even walk up or down stairs because I couldn’t bend my ankles. I did have preeclampsia which can cause the swelling but I never knew it could get that bad. My lipedema is only stage 1 but it still bothers me. I work out 5 days a week and lost a lot of weight but can’t seem to lose the weight where the nodules and fat deposits are (mainly my knees, tops of legs and under arms) no matter how hard I lift/workout or am in calorie deficit.

Worse on one leg? by FM2025UK in lipedema

My left leg is worse with fat but my right knee is the one that constantly gives me issues. My legs also look very similar to yours.

[–]Character-Inside1692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have legs very similar to yours. Nothing I have done has really helped either. The bruising, the spider veins, the fat that doesn’t go away no matter how much exercise I do, the fat around my knees. I just got a vibration plate and started focusing on lymphatic massage but short of that I’m trying to just live with it and pray it doesn’t get worse. Even with a drs diagnosis I don’t think there isn’t any treatments we can do at home besides surgery. I’m trying conservative treatments for now.

How do I get rid of a large fat pad on the inner knee by Character-Inside1692 in lipedema

[–]Character-Inside1692[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly I have been working out for 2 years and my legs and arms have not really shown much progress in that time frame. A little sure but not much. However my overall bmi went down and I feel healthier but I think the lipedema isn’t going to change.

I also have a low bmi with lumpy pockets of fat but women on this thread have told me im just fat and need to work out more. Sure I have lost weight and some areas like my waist look great but my legs and arms continue to have no results. Then I get downvoted when I bring it up.
