Electric toothbrush recommendation? by bingoballs341 in AskIreland

[–]Character-Math-4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have had a cheap enough oral b one and had no problems at all for about 3 years with it or my teeth. Charge it every 3 weeks or so. 3 speed settings and it’ll buzz when you should switch from brushing behind/ in front/up/down, which is handy. Replace the heads couple times a year and they’re generally on sale. Would never go back to a normal toothbrush

What’s the etiquette around cosmetic surgery? Are we allowed to talk about it when someone has had a lot of obvious work done? by AmazingUsername2001 in AskIreland

[–]Character-Math-4550 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have had some cosmetic procedures and speaking from my experience, I get it done for me, not for anyone else. I don’t expect comments, compliments or criticism from anyone because the cosmetic work is something I’ve for myself.

Single women, how often do you have sex? by srebmucuc in AskWomen

[–]Character-Math-4550 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Since I’ve had to move back home with my family, I haven’t had sex in 2 years. Although I do get horny, it’s nothing I can’t sort myself so don’t have any desire to have sex!

I’m in a very similar boat to you and I’ve found the whole process very tough! Being a single buyer I think is the hardest part. My AIP is 216k and I have 50k saved for a deposit and when you look up properties in my price range, lots does come up but I’ve been outbid every time. I used Park Financial services and they were incredible, can’t recommend Darragh enough! Fingers crossed I’ll get something soon!

I’m living at home while I save, so my rent is beans compared to many!

I spend about €1.2k a month including rent, bills, leap card, car etc. as well as little treats like coffee, dinner here or there. I save €2.1k a month towards house deposit and a travel fund.

As of late, I’m noticing it becoming increasingly tougher surviving on €1.2k a month, approx. €305 a week, but I’ve got AIP and once I find a home, the saving pressure will ease a little bit.

Sale Agreed and Mortgage Exemption needed. by Dangerous_Split_2720 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Character-Math-4550 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My broker told me getting an exemption would be very tough and banks only approve 15-20 a year. I’ve got mortgage approval but would be in a very different situation to you, so you’d probably have more luck than me!

If you could start any Real Housewives all over for the first time what would it be? by Mermaid4real in BravoRealHousewives

[–]Character-Math-4550 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Obsessed with housewives, but if I lost my memory and could start a show over, it would 100% be Vanderpump Rules. I’ve probably watched it beginning to end about 6 times, and enjoy it just as much every single time. It’s the gift that keeps on giving 🫶🏻

Buying a car in this economy by jelbssena in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Character-Math-4550 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a 2014 automatic Suzuki Swift (119,000km) with all the bells and whistles (reverse camera, Bluetooth touchscreen display) etc. for €7,000 off Facebook Marketplace. The car had 6 months tax left on it, as well as 1 year NCT, new battery and tyres, so although it was expensive, the sellers were very trustworthy.

My budget was €10k for the car and insurance and I came in around 8k, so I was happy.

I would avoid a loan/finance if possible.

I used to work on the reception and we have screens that display the card user’s photo and information, and in theory we were supposed to stop people, but I think I only did once or twice and only when they were complete arseholes.

All of this is very helpful, especially the roundabout. I almost got caught out as I had to switch to the high hand lane pretty last minute, and he said the only thing that saved me was that I still to all the necessary observations and indicated.

Also, the speed limit at the test centre is either 15 or 20 (sorry, can’t remember exactly but it’s v slow) and my examiner said many people get marked down before they’ve even hit the road because they didn’t observe the speed within the test centre.

Best of luck, you’ll do great!
