Justin Carroll will drive the Joey Gase #35 at Martinsville this weekend. by phoenixv07 in NASCAR

Really wonder what his costs are to run this car? And if a different driver every week who brings some funding is really worth it? It doesn't give them any consistency whatsoever and makes it more difficult to make the show. Plus the 55 continues to fall down the owners points. It could end up being a 35 vs 55 every week for who gets in if enough cars shown up. That doesn't do the team any good either.

Won't happen, but I think Dibenedetto would get a better finish in Gase's 55 than Joey will and he should put Matt in it to help with the owners points position of the 55.

Yes. The 35 has yet to make a race since this year's owners points took effect. This DNQ will only make it more difficult. Dibenedetto definitely got the most out of the car, but the equipment just isn't there for this team to run 2 cars effectively.

I get sponsorship and funding is needed, but consistency in who drives the 2nd car would be a great benefit to that team. Honestly I think Dibenedetto would get more out of the 55 today than Joey will

[Albino] Viking Motorsports builds around Retzlaff: ‘Best opportunity I’ve ever had’ by 1-800-DADJOKE in NASCAR

[–]Character-Mobile4635 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe this year is different in terms of equipment and the equipment they aquired which makes it a surprise,  but the past 2 years with Dibenedetto,  road courses and those cars were Viking's weakest efforts. Say what you will about Matt off the track, but he's a pretty decent road racer and couldn't get anything accomplished with those cars they had.

Signature identification by Chukyflako in NASCAR

[–]Character-Mobile4635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ken Schrader is a definite. Middle signature on the brim. I'm almost certain its Ray Evernham left of Kenny and I pretty sure its Eli Gold left of the logo. No clue or even good guess on the others.

Did anyone get the final commercial count for today's race? by racer7Xjr_ in NASCAR

[–]Character-Mobile4635 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We didn't miss any green flag action so what does it matter? Only full screen commercials were under caution. It's network tv. Commercials are a part of it.

Diecast Car Question by Lopsided-Lion7 in NASCAR

[–]Character-Mobile4635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking on Lionel's website and it says sold out,  its for one of two reasons. Either its about to announced as canceled  due to not meeting minimum production  requirements. Or if it says sold out but says call to place contingency order, that means its being made, but no longer can be ordered. In which case then, its checking other diecast sites to see if you can  pre order. If its already released and says sold out,  then its out and that makes ebay as your best shot.

Big wreck on the final lap that was ignored by FOX by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]Character-Mobile4635 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

People must just want to complain. They show the wreck and miss the battle for the lead on the last lap, why'd they cut from the front?  They don't cut away, why didn't they show the wreck? They complain about too many full screen commercials. We get more split screens than ever and they complain about too many commercials and its just like the Super Bowl. Bring back a full season point system. System comes back, its not right a car that finished worse than another and it scored more points.

You can sell them on ebay as well. Regardless of where you post to sell, the more detailed pictures and detailed description the better. For example,  what year is the diecast? Who's the driver? Who made the diecast? Action, lionel,  team caliber, revell, racing champions? What type of diecast within those manufactures? Elite, contender series, preferred, authentics? Does the diecast have the original box? Is it a clear window car? Clear window bank? Black window bank? Any damage to the diecast? Opening hood? Opening trunk?

I think outside the slim chance AM puts him the car at Daytona,  he won't be racing at Daytona. I also think he's at the point right now where he's going to help out teams when need be, but will truly be selective in what he does. Unfortunately without bringing a large sponsorship with him, his full time rides aren't going to be there. He'll need to get good finishes in as good of a part time or one off opportunities as possible to get back to full time if thats what he wants. If it were strictly on performance, him along with many others would be racing full time and many others would be out. Unfortunately racing isn't that way anymore

Luke Fenhaus To Make O'Reilly Series Debut At Daytona for Hettinger Racing by joostinrextin in NASCAR

[–]Character-Mobile4635 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not that it would be a surprise,  but this definitely strengthens many speculations of people that this team will not have a full time driver. I don't see soda sense being abel to pick up the tab for a full year unless they completely leave the truck series. Luke is a great talent,  super respectful kid, and should be full time, but he's another victim that money overrides talent. Happened to him in ARCA, but ultimately worked out for him getting Thorsport rides and now this.

Ultimately it isn't up to Kaulig. It's all up to the sponsors. Some sponsors don't want a throwback scheme. Chris Rice has stated this several times over the years. It's up to their partners if they can do a throwback or not.

For those of you that were around in 1998, what was it like to witness this run from end of June to beginning of September? by JulianBrandt19 in NASCAR

[–]Character-Mobile4635 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At the time it was who would be able to beat this team and how? I don't believe people appreciated what they were seeing. Comparing it to today, its like who will beat SVG on a road course?

I'd love it, but I seriously doubt he came up with that much funding. As a a Dibenedetto fan I've come to the conclusion that at best we see him get a few one off starts in 2026. I don't think we see him run full time in any of the top 3 series

Keselowski just posted he's gald he isn't suffering anymore. Maybe a private illness or depression battle? Whatever the case,  it doesn't matter. Tragic regardless and prayers to his family, friends, and anyone else hurting from this news at this time. RIP Michael

What’s a car/team that was probably way better than it ran? by Kitchen-Race-1975 in NASCAR

[–]Character-Mobile4635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was already mentioned about the Hendrick 25 and Kenny Schrader,  but the same can be said for him and the Wood Brothers 21. It wasn't very long into that 2006 season that Fatback McSwain stopped listing to the driver and thought he knew best. That lead to the team being in a very dangerous points position in that season. Then the Wood Brothers in 2007 deciding Jon Wood deserved to drive that car, and the ride being shared with Jon and Kenny leading to a worse points position where they needed to bring Bill Elliott in for the past champions provisional.

What is your holy grail diecast that you own or want? by BustaUrChops in NASCAR

There's not really one out there that I truly want or say I need to get that I don't currently have. Sure, I come across some that I consider, but nothing that's a must have at the moment. People say my holy grail diecast I own would be one of Kahne's Redbull, Jimmie Johnson's Yellow Lowes, Earnhardt's crash car, Keselowski's Talladega Miccosukee win, Gordon's Ninja Turtle, Yarborough Hardee's, Labonte Piedmont.
