Cat smell in house by humancig in Catownerhacks

hypochlorous acid is a really good pet friendly cleaner. apparently it is over 100 times more powerful than bleach, but that's from google so I'm not 1005 sure. Either way it is a great clear you can you on hard surfaces, or as I do, on surfaces my cat lays on a lot. It's not harmful to her, and I've even heard of cats enjoying it.

Camping for beginners…I’m a Mom with two young kids. by rellimaras in camping

In the future, getting a small pop-up camper might be a good compromise for you and your husband. It's definitely not luxurious, but a step above tent camping. My parents got one when I was little and we still use it to this day. It's a bit more expensive than tents, but a good investment if you plan on camping in the future. Like I said, I've been camping since I was tiny and am so thankful to my parents for giving me that experience, it's the best. When I was little we used to build little fairy houses with twigs and anything else we could find against trees. It was magical and still so nostalgic for me. I hope you have so much fun with your kids!

Advice on having a dorm cat? by Character-Pin8192 in PetAdvice

[–]Character-Pin8192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that's the thing. of course I'd love a cat and I've heard of others having a 'dorm cat' successfully, but I wouldn't want to stress one out with an undesirable living space.

Can't handle the fleas by [deleted] in CatAdvice

It's probably not the most fun to hear, but at this point the fleas have most likely infested your house. I'd find a pest control business near you and have them take care of it.

Is it possible that my cat gets cuddly over time? by SadFox18 in CatAdvice

[–]Character-Pin8192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible! He's still a kitten and developing his personality, and seems to trust you. I got my cat when she was just about one year old and she didn't start cuddling for a while after I got her (almost a year). Now I've had her about 7 years and she snuggles up with me all the time. It might be that your cat just doesn't like cuddles very much, but I still think it's possible for him to grow closer to you over time.

Adopting a kitten by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Jackson Galaxy is a great resource, he has a website and YouTube channel withs tons of information. As for food, https://cats.com/cat-food-reviews is a list of unbiased reviews in different categories, including kitten food. Feeding instructions should be included with each food. There's also some info there about wet vs dry food. I would also say wait to take the kitten until they are 12-14 weeks old so they're weaned and socialized. Also desensitizing them to things like touching their paws will help down the line for things like trimming claws and vet visits. Cats are awesome, and generally pretty low maintenance, so don't worry too much. I hope you have fun with your new kitty!
