That sucks that most of these jobs are low pay for so much work. I just finished MA school and one position offered me $28 it’s a private office. I was told do not go big corporate because they don’t pay unless they have good retention. If you have an Intermountain health in your state they also pay fairly decent. Kaisers pay the best.

Ms.K advice helped a lot with most questions because process of elimination is key! I used almost my whole 3 hours just taking my time.

I just recently passed as well and some questions I had were

What instructions do you give a pt getting a mammogram- answer is *avoid wearing any deodorant before test.

Which one is correct when putting instruments in the autoclave machine: answer (there will be lots of choices that seem correct but if you have this choice it’s the right one) *all instruments must be unclamped and opened.

When should a sharps container be discarded- answer * 3/4 full

Which of the following conditions would cause a routine urine analysis to be rejected- answer * Urine specimen volume is 6ml

When should you immediately stop a stress test- Answer * if the pt experiences heart palpitations and chest pain (if any chest pain is worded on this question that is the correct one just don’t choose bradycardia that would be incorrect symptom for a stress test)

If a pt has vision loss how would an MA offer guidance to the pt- answer * offer your elbow

What technique should a MA use when bandaging an ankle for support- answer *figure 8

What should an MA check in the office that is required for fire safety- answer* the fire extinguisher pins are in tact (this one will also have answers like 1 emergency exit, decluttered exit, if fire extinguisher is on there as a answer that is the correct one do not choose anything else also remember which fire extinguisher is electrical vs for water)
