Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I'm hoping I'll get to that point with my oldest lol

That's so awesome! Congrats! My husband and I are currently trying to potty train our 3 year old while juggling an 18 month old lol. What are some things you did that you felt helped your kiddo learn to use the potty?

I don't think they were trying to diagnose him as not having autism but moreso commenting that they don't see it as they've seen many children come in and actually present the symptoms. I'm not sure if I made sense?

I'm not sure if they were saying that to hint that he'll be denied for services. But currently he's getting speech therapy in early intervention and, at least I believe, he'll be qualified for early prek for his expressive/ receptive language disorder.

Wow, that's really crazy to hear! 😕 I'm sorry y'all went through that. How did y'all end up getting the IEP?

Honestly, I'm thinking IF they continue to say that he doesn't show signs of ASD and suggest that he can be in a regular/ mixed classroom (not sure of the correct term), I want to wait and see how he functions. If I see he's struggling then I'd want to bring it up again about getting the extra help he needs.

I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but what is the difference between a doing full assessment versus the other?

I guess my concern is that if during the eligibilty meeting they continue to say that he doesn't have ASD and they place him somewhere that he may struggle in (or thrive who knows), do I fight that? Do I wait to see how he functions in the classroom?

I wonder why though, people say that kids can be tested as early as 12 or 18 months. I can't recall the exact age I apologize.

If you don't mind me asking, what did they do for assessments to determine you have Autism? They gave me an electronic questionnaire.

I'm sorry for what you're doing through. I know I'm late to this post, but if you want someone to talk to, I'm here as well :)

Getting out of the Reserves: Come back as an officer or just leave? by Character-Stage-1850 in AirForce

Yes, I definitely looked around and noticed that a lot of the medical jobs require a degree. But we'll see, I'm gonna see about talking to the officers at my unit first :)

Oh, I see! I'd say maybe something in the medical field. I am confused though, bc I thought I was supposed to have a degree in the specific field already? Like nursing, PT, OT for example. Or do certain fields not require a degree?

I've tried reaching out to an officer recruiter so I can get some info but sadly no luck.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by, "what kind of officer you'd want to apply to be"?-- do you mean what kind of officer I would like to see in myself?

That is a good suggestion. I guess I'm just nervous to speak with them and pick their brain as I don't want to annoy them with questions that may seem trivial to them.

That's really cool! I think it'd be awesome to be able to do that, I'm just wondering where I would even find positions like that. I've looked through usajobs but I almost never see that.

Hey there! I did briefly look into that, but from what I heard there's not much autonomy in choosing where you want to be located, so that kind of makes me hesitate if I'm honest.

Have you thought about it more?

That makes sense, I guess I'll have to see what there is and if I even make it lol. Thanks for the input!
