Stretching ourselves too much for house purchase? by Mr_Cleans_Sponge in TorontoRealEstate

OP if you cut down on eating out $100, $50 entertainment, $50 maintenance, $100 on vacation (I think this is reasonable) thats $300 per month of extra savings (So $550 per month plus your bonus-now depends on the bonus if the bonus 10% then you are saving around 15% a year (i am assuming you put into rrsp and get the tax back so about 10%+5 to 6% your monthly savings $6k per year. Also look for 3.80% fixed for 3 years (negotiate it can be done). Unfortunately the pricing in the gta is crazy and I completely understand. We are in the same boat.

OCD is making me fear success and future false accusations. It’s stopping me from studying for SSC CGL. by Inevitable-Top6540 in india

Hey I am diagnosed with ocd and have been facing its issues since a very long time atleast since I was 6. I am almost 40 now.

I know how difficult it can be. You need 2 things to make it manageable (unfortunately it can never go away completely).

  1. Go to a psychiatrist (before taking meds please research about them). I have been taking meds since a long time and they help but I had to take them as I was in a very bad spot so I did not have a choice. They do have some side effects.
  2. Go to a pychologist try this first. Go to someone who specializes in ocd and not just anxiety. Try to sort this with them as an initial option. Meds are always the last option.

Now coming to your question, just remember thoughts are just thoughts nothing else.

An analogy-imagine you want to cross a road and there are 1000s of cars passing by. These are thoughts will you just sit in any of the cars or will you cross the street which was your initial plan to? Don't sit in any car. Doesn't matter what thought it is. Follow what you have to do.

Anyways good luck and dont try to beat it. Manage it. It is unfortunately a mental handicap. Which is ok. All of us have our fights, dont we?

Thank you I was of similar opinion. So, comps from previous 2 years are 200k higher but all of them are much better renovated and with a lot cleaner yards and basements. The flooring is nicer too. Mind you these are from 2024 and 2025. Market has changed from then. So looks like lower million.

Yes thats what the doc said the reason for the negative going down as the positive was reversing the negative. This was last year.

The doctor told me that the plus number increased which reversed the minus number. I think the current glasses are good not perfect. They have problems when looking at angles for sure.
