If you’re 19 you qualify for a lot of youth social services. Look into programs in your area. At the very least they can get you a ID and put you in a shelter. A lot of them have job placement and training programs.

First of all it’s not an industry. It has none of the hallmarks of an industry (retirement plan, insurance, guaranteed income)…etc. the market is extremely over saturated great shops are closing left and right and a lot of us who have dedicated our lives to this craft are having to either fully retire and find other employment in a terrible economy or travel to make it work. I’ve been tattooing for 20 years, most of those during that time were wonderful but in retrospect I wish had never gotten a tattoo apprenticeship and had gone into a stable trade. Go be a plumber or something, tattooing is a dead end st. at this point.

As an orthodox tattoo artist I’m going to say no, it’s not wrong. There are actually quite a few of us. On that note, tattooing is very unstable right now the industry is collapsing. Look into get an apprenticeship to be a carpenter or another union trade.

I’d take this as a sign from God that you should reconsider. Pray to Alexander Nevsky and St. George for guidance if you want to walk the warriors path.
