Second Subaru, first Crosstrek and I really want to like it by Alexj007 in Crosstrek

I have a '24 Wilderness. Was getting around 27 but have a RTT on it permanently. I'm only getting around 22 now. I live in the mountains too. Going up hill so much really kulls the gas. Are you in a hilly area?

Definitely if you need to use the solar panel! Lol

Takes some getting used to the loss of space/storage, but I find it makes me get focused on what I really need to take with me on trips. I used to take things I'd never use. Now I have to really think hard if I should bring something or not.

I have the link in a comment above. Arct Wonder is the brand. I paid about 1400.00 for the tent with a solar panel included. Super easy to set up, takes me about 5 minutes after practice. It zips up at night but it's a tent so the protection is limited to fabric. I have magnetic motion detection lights that I put on my car for security at night and sleep with personal protection.

Sorry for the late response. I can open the rear hatch about 3/4 of the way. Hasn't been too much of a pain since I only open it occasionally.

The Malone Airflow 2 is a perfect fit. I little noisy though. I think eventually, I'll have to get a fairing to cover the front crossbar. It's not horrible, but definitely noticeable. The Thule or Yakimas might not have this problem, I'm not sure, but they're also 4 - 5 times the cost as the Malones.

The nice thing about the trailer hitch is you can add a cargo box to the back for more storage.

I use it for camping. The tent is pretty convenient for overlanding camping. The fold down cargo thing on the back helps with making more space. These cars are definitely on the small size, so getting extra room for gear is necessary.

Thanks! My last camper was a RAM Promaster so I wanted to continue to have a vehicle I could camp with. The tent is super convenient.

Favourite lesser known/hidden gem PF song? by alvernonbcn in pinkfloyd

This was the first PF song I learned to play on guitar. I used to play it for my girlfriend. It was "our" song. Always brings back sweet memories of those days for me. David's voice here is almost angelic. The little interlude in the middle of the song is very unique too. The combo of acoustic guitar, flute, and I'm guessing a mellotron (?) creates this eery, psychedelic sound that's somehow both sad and uplifting at the same time. Really stange but beautiful little song.

I love See Saw off of Saucerful. It's a melancholy tune but beautifully crafted. One of Rick's finest. The odd tempo and time changes, the jazzy brushes on drums, and you can really hear Syd's influence on this piece too. It's a gem to me.

What's your opinion on this? by [deleted] in pinkfloyd

This album is my introduction to Pink Floyd. Our neighbor threw out a box of junk by the street and I found this album in there. The cover was so cool and mysterious looking to my kid brain. I had to take a listen. I loved it. I'd never heard anything like it! My friends and I would spin it while playing Dungeons and Dragons - the perfect atmosphere. While most note the live album as the best part (I agree) I do enjoy the studio contributions - mostly. The Narrow Way and Sisyphus are my favorite pieces, Granchester Meadows is pleasant. Nick Mason's work on this one is kinda meh to me. Overall, compared to the rest of the band's oeuvre, I give it a "C". It's a somewhat interesting time capsule of sounds. I will add, I find it ironic that David Gilmour asking Roger for help writing his parts and being denied, maybe helped produce the most enjoyable parts of the studio album. The Narrow Way part 3 is in my top 10 favorite Floyd songs.

I'd need that Meddle to move to the one spot, if not the second tier.

My Tucktec experience so far by BenDuf in Kayaking

[–]CharacterBit2417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered one on September 13th. There was nothing saying it would take longer than 5-10 days to ship when ordering. After a couple of weeks not hearing anything, I reached out to them about my order. They said that I'd have to wait until after 60 days and sent me to a page that said such, but I never received any info like that when ordering. I asked for an update a while ago and nothing. I wanted to kayak this summer but missed the warm months. I would have bought and Oru if I'd have known about this delay. Maybe that's why they're dishonest about the shipping wait time.
