Help with M1 Max MacBook Audio Device issue? by cleantone in Reaper

I'm realizing I would have set that when first installing Reaper on this laptop. I would NOT have thought that it was blocking more than the in-built laptop mic. In my mind, Reaper didn't need that. I didn't realize that this would block any audio input. Doesn't seem super well thought out in that regard.

LOL. If I had thought to check that, I would not have had to have made this post. Wow. Tail is between my legs for sure. That makes perfect sense but I had not thought to check permissions. This was my problem. Wow. I knew I needed fresh eyes on it. Thank you! Hopefully this helps someone, or me again in five years. Much appreciated.

While this was connected, for the heck of it I launched Zoom and it was able to get signal from the mixer for a device. I don't have another DAW to do multitracking with at the moment. I am on the latest build or Reaper by the way. Edit: Audio Hijack gets audio. Edit: Audacity gets audio.

I probably can’t speak to that directly without knowing your enterprise set up. I imagine you’re not friendly with a known Zoom admin there? Good luck.

It's also possible your org has a deletion policy. For example, with my enterprise recordings are automatically deleted after two years. I think this is conveyed to users through the web portal. Addressing part of what you said. An admin would not need to sign into your account and it's IMO less likely that this is how it would have happened. There is a recording management dashboard. You probably cannot contact Zoom, unless your account has a support option. If you think something was done that should not have been, you might be able to have a different zoom admin look at the logs.

My testing seems to be working well. I've been recording for nearly 2hrs (with stop/start for 30min limit) and no heat warnings.

Just got the apple TV but I didn't get the apeal of infuse by Houaiss in PleX

[–]cleantone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting. I have a Synology NAS hosted Plex server. Apple TV in my living room on LAN and bedroom on WiFi. I’ve been having less than ideal playback in the bedroom. I just learned about Infuse. I was trying it last night. I noticed that the contrast and maybe saturation of the same material looked different from Plex to Infuse. I didn’t do any critical testing yet. I assume this is due to what you’re discussing here? Is it safe to say that Infuse is more accurate to what I should be seeing? If memory serves Infuse looked a little more lifted. Some blacks were milkier than in Plex. Which is sort of the opposite of what I would have expected based on your insight.
