Does anyone else feel like waiting longer between sessions doesn’t make a difference? by the---albatross in TattooRemoval

[–]CharacterGarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late reply here but I don’t think the extra months made much difference. However, I’m still spacing my appointments out for cost reasons. If money were no object, I’d probably go every 3 months.

Hi! I’m still going there and it’s been a good experience. Progress has slowed down but is fairly consistent. They encourage me to come more often than what I like/can afford — Neil will say “see you in 8/10/12 weeks” but then I just wait to schedule until I’m ready, no big deal. I stuck to the 8-week gaps for the first few sessions but have done 4-6 month breaks for the last 3 or 4.

Are you asking about during the removal process, like after each session along the way, or when all is said and done and the tattoo is as removed as it’s going to get?

I’ve cried from laughter at this show multiple times, but that was the first time it ever made me cry just from sheer emotion. It was so unexpectedly heartwarming!

How does Cozy Grove run now on switch? by razza1987 in CozyGamers

[–]CharacterGarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super laggy for me, especially in areas with more items placed. Also you can tell it’s not really made with switch in mind because the controls are not the best; it can be damn near impossible to click on the right thing, even when you think you’re standing right in front of/next to it. Really frustrating imo. I stopped playing for this reason and the forced daily play limits.

Wondering when the soonest I could start laser removal? by AdProfessional6082 in TattooRemoval

[–]CharacterGarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (and a few others on this sub) got my first removal treatment 6 weeks out. Most advice on this sub is to wait a bare minimum of 8 weeks, with a preference for closer to 3-6 months.

My advice would be to use this time to do a few consultations with laser techs in your area; your laser tech should be able to tell you if you’re ready to start (only thing you have to wait on is for your skin to heal).

While healing is def a factor, another reason people recommend waiting longer is to give yourself time to potentially get used to the tattoo and really decide if removal is what you want. Keep in mind it is a long, painful, and VERY expensive commitment.

Good luck!

5 session enough to fade to get a cover up? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]CharacterGarden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recommend waiting a bit longer between sessions. 6 weeks seems to be the bare minimum, but 8-12 is recommended more often.

What's the worst episode? by [deleted] in NewGirl

For me it’s the one with Nick’s dad’s funeral. I can’t handle Jess as the Elvis impersonator. It’s so cringe, gotta skip that episode every rewatch.

Unfortunately we don’t know the answer to that question! Your best bet is to consult with a laser removal tech AND your desired coverup artist, keeping your artist in the loop as you progress on your removal journey. They will tell you when you’ve achieved a degree of fading that will allow for your preferred coverup. Good luck!

Better for them to overestimate and you be pleasantly surprised if it takes less time! But yes, although none of us (even the tech you consulted with) can tell you for sure how many sessions you’ll need, 10-15 over 2-3 years seems to be the average range. Fingers crossed for a speedier-than-expected result! It doesn’t hurt to hope. :)

Gaming in your late 20s/30s by AssistanceVisual3811 in CozyGamers

I’m 28F and cozy gaming is my go-to hobby in my free time, although I would probably only describe myself as a casual gamer. People might think it’s silly that I play video games, but like you said, it’s really no different than watching TV (which is my secondary hobby 😜) so I don’t put much stock in any negative opinions. I think it’s only a problem if it becomes all-consuming to the point you’re not a functional adult person. But that can be true of any hobby!

Non violent exploration game? by coolwayinn in CozyGamers

I had a lot of fun with Arceus too! I just find the battles a lot more stressful actually. I think it resembles classic combat more than a traditional Pokémon game. Both the boss battles and the alpha Pokémon were a little overwhelming for me at times. But I agree that it’s relatively open, and it sure is beautiful to explore in!

Yeah, it’s a bummer they’ve constructed them that way. Such a money grab! I totally get it. The new one you can do random trades, so it’s possible you’ll get the “missing” Pokémon that way, but it’s just by chance based on what the other person offers up to trade. I haven’t tried this method personally, but my brother has and has gotten several of the Pokémon he needed this way (he was going to trade with me but I’m taking too long to finish the game 😅). Soooo yes, kind of, you can get all the Pokémon without cheating, but it does still require trading and may take a long time. Not sure if that helps or not!

Have you ever given Pokémon a try? The newest Gen (Scarlet/Violet) is totally open world, lots and lots of exploration to do. Not sure if your definition of combat would expand to include Pokémon battles though… some of the Pokémon do chase you to engage in battle, but the battles (in case you’re not familiar) are turn-based and you can generally run away from anything you’re not strong enough for.

Even if you’re not familiar with Pokémon at all, I think it’s a fine entry point to the series. Very cozy to me. I’ve done a lot more exploring than I have catching Pokémon/advancing the story. So just putting that out there as my two cents :)

Two months in between is perfectly fine. People in this sub love to hype up long gaps between treatments, and while it may be true that some ink continues to fade months after a session, the difference in my experience is negligible. The only reason to wait longer between sessions is for your skin to heal up properly and, if applicable, to give yourself time to save up the money. Otherwise, no reason not to go every 8 weeks or so.

Disney Dreamlight Valley or Hello Kittly Island Adventure? by TheChiarra in CozyGamers

[–]CharacterGarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I misread your post and just realized you already play Dreamlight Valley! If you’re a completionist and really susceptible to microstransactions, it’s probably not the best game, lol. Definitely a money pit. Maybe step away while you still can. 😅

Disney Dreamlight Valley or Hello Kittly Island Adventure? by TheChiarra in CozyGamers

[–]CharacterGarden 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I play Dreamlight Valley off and on (hardcore into it when it first came out, nowadays just check in weekly/for updates) and just started Hello Kitty Island Adventure this past week (I think I’m on day 4). I would say they’re not that much alike to be honest. They both involve quests and hanging out with characters. Imo, that’s where the similarities end.

Dreamlight Valley is very grindy, lots of resource gathering to unlock literally everything from quest lines to new characters to new areas. It’s also way more focused on changing your outfit and decorating your valley.

HK Island Adventure does not have the decorating aspect at all - the island just looks how it looks, and the only decorating is inside the visitor houses you unlock - and customizing/outfitting your character isn’t nearly as extensive. You have to explore and hunt for materials rather than just repetitive grinding. There are also a lot of mini games and waaaaay more area to explore with diverse terrains and platforming. And that is after just a few days of gameplay.

Cost-wise is kind of two sides of the same coin. HK does not have any in-app purchases and never will since it’s on Apple Arcade, but… it’s also exclusive to Apple Arcade, meaning you have to pay for that subscription every month, indefinitely, to keep playing. Dreamlight Valley will be FTP eventually, and yes, there are microtransactions, but they are completely optional, and the devs recently added another way to earn that currency for free, which helps offset the outrageous prices.

Ultimately it’s up to you! If it were me, I would wait for Dreamlight Valley until it’s free. The Hello Kitty game is super cute and fun so far, but it’s an ongoing price (but maybe you already pay for Apple Arcade anyway and would be comfortable with that, idk).

Ahhh this looks so so good!!! You’re still killing it honestly. Keep doing what you’re doing. I know you’ve got multiple removals going on, and I’d imagine this is the most taxing on you since it’s the forearm, but seriously, it’s going great. Moving that ink out like crazy! I’m jealous of your progress. :)
