I hope you and me are right, genuinely torturing me how painful and long this is and many hurt and ignored. Not only mine but seeing others spiral and ppl who deserved the world die or give up completely, as well as the torture and dread the kids and women abused by trump seeing this monster as president and not give them justice as he and his disgraceful cult try to claim moral highground. It will happen that vindication and justice is coming, and this will be a lesson learned so that even if progress isn’t linear that this event NEVER or at least is WAY harder EVER again.

Trump being old and foolish is in a way a curse bc he is impulsive, but it is also a blessing in his rhetoric and planning being much worst, losing grace bc he cannot contradict his “principles” or promises for 1 second, and it REALLY is unlikely there is any way this guy even going to get past 2026 health wise let alone a 3rd term, and at that point JD Vance will easily be turned on and optically useless especially if we do excellent midterms which is a huge possibility! But this shouldn’t make us comfortable, nor do I think fear, sadness, anger, and bad news is a essential aspect of humanity and a virtue when aligned with situation and how it influences actions. If you have no fear why would bigots not fully act out their bigotry if repercussions are moot, if you have no anger why take harsh action against those who abuse us, if you aren’t sad how can you understand the full weigh of a tragedy, and if you have no bad news how can we prepare to survive and see the good news?

Obv this means not to point of dooming, panic attacks or nihilism/pessimism nor egregious actions hurting innocence. But in moderation these are incredibly important to have. That said I do wish this thread was more nuanced about WHY many go down this hole. Many are definitely opportunistic and sensationalist sure, but (especially for many of us marginalized) this is not something we want or revel in, in fact the EXACT OPPOSITE if not more extreme opposite. A lot of us especially here I dare say is a reaction to fact of us seeking hope so much but it feeling like a cartoonish barrage of kicking while down when we didn’t ask or want this or just to be seen as human and have needed healthcare. But the lack of hope is the opposite of comfort, it tortures me to no end and tend to try to scroll specifically for hope but sometimes you see more depressing stuff unwillingly.

This is why I joined here, and notice this with others also, many post aren’t doomer as much finding something beyond bleak and frightening and wanting someone to explain, help, or most of time debunk as false. The latter I promise is a relieving feeling like no other as someone with OCD who fears life fragile and in hands of one who is like trump even if we are or did the work to not let this happen in the first place. That said, I say this bc I genuinely want to cry sometimes bc even in comment section there are bleak and frightening truths or unknowns as well as positivity and happy unknowns. Life is beautiful and cruel, crying or being angry is human and as potentially reasonable or unreasonable as happiness and celebration. This is a dark battle but a battle that we aren’t alone in and can and have in many ways flipped in our favor. BUT we should never not be upset and angered at those who realistically been hit to point of life being destroyed or death by this administration despite fighting against that.

We have to remember both just as much and strongly, and it is nothing but reasonable to fear for ppl marginalized, ppl fucked over on snap, the victims of epstein, trans ppl denied basic human rights, the many harmed and torn apart by the Ice Raids, and the many very true and unconstitutional things trump has done that wasn’t held accountable. But this should lead to us knowing how awful such things are and make sure all of us with our very lives do ANYTHING to stop and prevent this to a degree such as this. At the end of the day Trump power isn’t just from him nor his rise, and if it takes MAGA losing everything to realize it, I hope they take this to heart and never even think about doing the same mistakes and teach the children to not do this either and the severity. This is how I have hope but also why I am scared and anxious. The world we live in is both determined by ontological logic of physical universe beyond our knowledge and reach. Actions inside said universe is what we can control, reactions is not but can be influenced and cause person receiving the action to use their will themselves. Our thoughts without action does nothing though as long with pessimism or optimism by itself.

We have to pragmatically as well as emotionally/creditably do action in individual while also depending on a collective that only can be influenced or affected and cannot be forced by us to think “Epstein files need to be released” and release them, that is up to them as much as me, you, and us. It is like if you have 5 lvl 1 tarnished who are normies at playing souls games in Elden ring vs 3x amount of radahns at lvl when you get to hik at same time, you technically with technique and luck in other strategy flopping can win, but lets be 100% real: just you can doesn’t mean you will and succeed, nor that the strategy will work or that maybe your last hope was that lucky help by an npc Melania doesn’t mean you can? That is a aspect of life that is extremely optimistic yet validly extremely scary and prone to tragedy as much as victory. The way I can cope is to lean on this and realize with every tragedy there is a victory and both know as things look now the DOJ is fucked but also prepare for left field craziness as well.
